AirSense 11 Turns Itself On

Post by ResistX » Sat Feb 01, 2025 7:41 pm

So when I turn off my AirSense 11 and it does the low pressure thing to dry out the tube for several minutes, almost daily now it turns itself back on with the normal pressure of air. This has counted against me in the app as a mask leak. Is anyone else having this issue or do I just have a defective unit?

Do you have Smartstart enabled? If so, do you use it to start the machine?

I don't know what to tell you. To my knowledge, this has never been reported in this forum.

I haven't read about it either.

Only thing I can think of is maybe a pet walking on the machine and turning it on. I have seen my cat do that.

If you haven't done so already, try unplugging the unit and let it set unpowered for about 30 minutes and then plug it back in. If something in its operating system got corrupted by a power surge or momentary loss of power, possibly a 'reboot' might correct things. Make sure all the power connections are tight including extension cords if using one.

I don't have pets so nothing is turning it on. I have tried many times unplugging it hoping it would reset things but it still has this issue. The last time it did it I let it do its blast of air and it shut itself off after about 20 seconds. Maybe it needs a firmware update but I don't know how get it updated if it even can be updated.

I don't know anything about your particular CPAP machine, but mine will turn on when power comes back after even a minor power interruption. When you unplug your machine and plug it back in, does it automatically turn on? I used to have power failures during the day and when I'd come home from work it would be on, telling me there had been a power failure. I had to be sure to unplug it in the morning or it might have the blower running most of the day (depending on when the power came back on).It runs enough during the night, it does not need to be running all day too! I suppose if yours has some automatic events it might need power to be present all the time, but mine is a much older (and simpler) CPAP.
