Extreme Dryness with Mini Air

Post by KED » Sun Jan 26, 2025 5:06 pm

I use the Air Mini when I travel. The mask does not leak, but I awaken with an extremely dry mouth. I have tried both the HumidX and the HumidX Plus filters. Also, the air does not exit when I breathe out like my daily CPAP. I have stopped using the Air Mini when traveling. I use nothing at all. Suggestions?

That and the noise are the biggest negatives to using the mini.

Which model mask do you use with the travel machine? Is it the same as with your home machine?

When using a nasal-only mask, the most common cause of dry mouth is opening the mouth or lips. This needs to addressed.

When using the Air Mini, I use the same chinstrap I use with my regular machine. Any other ideas? I hope to travel soon and am contemplating not using a CPCP.

Why do you just have to use the Air Mini when you travel?
You can't use your regular machine that doesn't dry the mouth out so much?????

For some people the AirMini lack of much added moisture and subsequent dryness issues is a reason they can't/won't use that machine. Those people don't do without cpap though.....they just take their regular house machine with them when they travel.
Maybe you should consider other options besides just not using cpap.
