Pimples Caused by Lower Seal of Mark

Post by SoniaR » Mon Jan 06, 2025 1:00 pm

I've been using the AirFit F40 for a couple of months and all of a sudden I have about 8 pimples appearing along the path of the lower seal, just above the chin. Any clue why this is happening? I wash the mask once a day, although wear it for a nap and at night. Thanks for any input.

Get some lanolin cream (Lansinoh brand is recommended) and start putting it on irritated area. A little goes a long way.

That should help.👍

8 pimples
Pimples are a common skin condition caused by clogged or inflamed oil glands or an increased presence of pimple-causing bacteria on your skin. Use a non-comedogenic (means a product that contains ingredients that won't clog or block the pores on your skin) soap before bed and again in the morning.

Do not use lanolin as it tends to cause blockage of skin pores.

You should probably follow CGranny's advice. She is a very sweet old person, who probably knows a lot more about pimples than I. :)

A concentration of papules or pimples popping up quickly in one area may be a contact dermatitis rash caused by the soap used to clean the mask. If the lower headgear straps are too tight the chin part of the mask cushion may be irritating skin.

Before I started using an air touch system, I got dermatitis all the time anywhere that my skin rubbed against the mask. Eventually, I found people out there that made cloth covers for the masks to protect your skin. Then I discovered the air touch masks. These masks use a foam that does not cause me dermatitis at all. I recommend that.

Now there is a caveat. I had a problem with one set of masks that were supposed to be air touch. The very first time I used one I broke out. I changed to another one in the package, and it did the same thing. I told the company I bought these masks from that there was something wrong with the mask material, but they refused to refund me for the purchase. I got some refund, but not for the whole mask order because they had been opened. Huh. How would YOU find out if a mask would affect your skin without actually using it?

Good luck!

"Sweet" was my focus. I just never had much experience with pimples (even during puberty). You on the other hand with advantage of more time on the planet, seem to be more informed than I when it comes to pimple care.

As to my "lanolized ass". I will have you know that my buttocks are pimple free and require no treatment. And if they did I would take your advice and use...Clearasil?

Hoping our next meeting will be ass kicking free!!!
