Hi All,
I am a newbie . I did read the how to’s for this group and hoping I follow the format . Please let me know if I need to adjust .

(Love how the icons convert to dos format :shock)
I wish the Cpap worked for me . Tried different machines for months without success . I am 67 and have suffered with apnea for years . Doc felt it was time to try another means .
Sleep doc suggested the
Inspire device , which I understand has been approved and in use for a little over 10 years with much success
I stumbled on this group when looking up for an
inspire group . The only feed that came up was user “rogelio “ whom posted on the “my personal experience with
inspire for sleep apnea “. Perhaps I should be on that Forum ? Yet tried searching for it without success. Was able to find this forum which states CPAC will not work for all .
Do we need to start a forum for people who have had the
inspire implant put in or are thinking about the procedure ? Rogelio post was a bit intimidating for me , yet my heart goes out to him/her/they .
This past week 07/22/2025, I had the
inspire implant installed . It will be activated in sept 2025 . I would LOVE and appreciate to hear from folks who have had this procedure done .
Manufacturer and sleep doctors tell me it is 90 percent successful. That to me is encouraging for a person who has struggled with quality sleep for many years .
I would like to hear how the install (surgery went) , how long the recovery period was for each “
inspire device “ activated , positives and complications if any .
I am very much looking forward to the
inspire device to work successfully for me . Yes I have pain currently . Yes the pain was expected since I did read about the surgery and recovery.
We did have one have one hiccup … when surgeon was tunneling to put the device /lead in , he mistakenly hit my anterior jugular (I think it sounds worse that what it is ).
Surgeon said he saw the excess blood (lost 50cc) and he made another incision and sutured the vein .
If we can’t use this forum for the
Inspire device , perhaps someone can recommend a name for the
Inspire device , and we can get feedback from folks whom had or thinking about having the
inspire installed .
I believe it could be helpful physically and emotionally in the healing process for me and others to read success stories . And yes , also need to hear of complications (so we can learn )
In cpaptalk .com I didn’t see a forum for The
Inspire device or for sleep apnea pillow .
I appreciate your feedback and hope I can hear some success stories while I am on the mend . I wish you all success with your sleep apnea journey … it is a tough one , yet I am told we all can have quality sleep .. peace
