Cascading problems-is it my machine?

I have been using cpap/apap for over 11 years and I have never had this problem or these problems like this. Can someone tell me if it could be a faulty machine? I have had it for a year.

I use the ResMed Airesense 11. I have zero mask seal anymore unless I strap the mask on so tight that I wake up with numb legs and pain in my neck and head. I even got pressure sores from strapping it so tight. If I don’t, the machine ramps up so high it blows the seal of the mask.

I am now getting zero mask seals on the app.

I am now suffering from depression so badly that I am almost useless as a human being sometimes. I have never suffered ED but now am almost hopelessly impotent and my libido has disappeared despite having intense attraction to my wife. My weight has ballooned from 250 to 300 despite little change in my diet. I am always tired. The machine blows so hard it hurts my throat as if someone is pushing in my throat.

Any advice would be appreciated. I cannot get in to a sleep specialist for weeks.

Are there any records of machines failing?

Thank you.

Welcome to the forum. You are dealing with some very difficult problems. Have you discussed the depression, weigh gain, loss of libido, and tiredness with your primary care physician? Getting some treatment for the depression could be a big help for you.

About your machine and leaks: there's not a lot we can tell you without seeing some data. You can sign up for a free account with <https://home.sleephq.com/>, and that will then enable to you share a link with us to key data about your time on the machine.

As well as posting some current charts, post some charts from when your apnea was being treated better for comparison. Unfortunately SleepHQ free account can be used to display data beyond a month ago.

When was the last time you changed mask cushions? When was the last time you changed mask types? You've had some weight gain, this will have some impact on face shape, your mask may not fit your different contours.

The app is not a good analysis tool. Please follow Emerita's instructions for SleepHQ.

Keep your hopes up. Most of these problems have easy solutions.

Do you know what your machine settings are?
It sounds like it is set from 4 to 20. That is not working for you.
My wife started CPAP las t Christmas. I set her Airsense 11 at 7 to 12 cm H2O. A similar adjustment will limit the machines ability to "blow the mask off your face". You will need to get into the Clinician menu to make the adjustments.
You should also verify that you have an SD card in your machine. if not, you can get one for $10 or$15 at Walmart, Best Buy or Amazon, etc. The SD card is necessary for you to access the detailed data about your therapy using free software like Oscar or SleepHQ. That will allow you to view and more importantly share with this forum or others, so you can get meaningful advice from experts who know far more than I do.
If you read the permanent posts at the top of this forum, they will provide you with a lot of good information.

How old is your headgear?
They stretch out until there is no bounce--then it hurts.
