I have posted this note to the manufacturer as well and have not heard back, but I am curious -- I bought the ClimateLineAir™ Heated Tube for AirSense™ 10 and have been using it for about a week. To the touch, it is room temp at best, definitely not what I would call warm. Is this correct? Just making sure it is doing its job (or whether I need to return it).

The maximum hose air temp is 86 degrees F. Your own body temp is going to be around 98 degrees F.
So when just touching the hose with your hand the hose is going to feel cooler than your own hand.
The heated hose is never going to feel warmer than your own body temp....or anywhere close to your 98 degree body temp.

What temp do you have the heated hose set at?

"What temp do you have the heated hose set at?"... I have no idea! I didn't realize you could set the temp (I must have missed it on my unit's set up). I just plugged it in. I will take a look and maybe bump it up a degree.

The hose temp may be set to "Auto" along with the humidity setting and if that is the case I think the hose air temp setting is around 80 degrees. I don't remember exactly.
It's not going to feel overly warm at that temp.

I use a hose air temp of the max 86 degrees (I also use max humidity setting) and I know that the hose sure doesn't feel all that warm.
Not cold for sure but far from warm.

It doesn't work like a heating pad works in terms of how warm to the touch things are.

Your hose is probably working as it should be working....you were just expecting it to feel more warm like a heating pad.

You know you could maybe test the air temp if you have some sort of digital thermometer and can test it quickly.
Like use the machine for maybe 30 minutes and quickly insert the thermometer at the end of the heated hose while it is still blowing and see what the air temp registers.

Might not be a perfectly scientific test but should get you close and at least reassure you that the heating element is indeed working as it should.

If you have a laser thermometer you can aim it straight at the hose heating coil and get a pretty good reading.

Or a FLIR (infrared) camera.
My heated tubing never feels "warm" to my skin.
(Skin temperature is usually significantly lower than body temperature.)

I use an AirCurve 10 along with a ClimateLineAir heated hose. I have both the hose temp and the humidifier set to Auto.

If I check the hose with my hand within 3 to 4 mins after turning my machine on, I can feel the warmth. If I check the unheated tubing that connects my mask to the heated tube, I can feel the temperature difference. It's subtle but it's there. If I check after 10 mins or so, I can't feel any difference.
