Just a quick update: I just had my 3rd straight night of scoring 100 on Resmed's MyAir app.
Not the end-all-be-all indicator of a good night's sleep, but 100 a better indicator than a 70!
On the second night of scoring 100, I woke up at 3am and couldn't fall back asleep for about an hour. Yet I was still able to score the 100 (just as an example of how the scoring is meaningful in some ways, and meaningless in other ways).
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread, and helped me through troubleshooting and resolving my leakage issues! I'll give it some more time and report back occasionally.

Update: Mouth taping still seems to be working for me, though I am running into a mild annoyance.
I notice that I wake up in the middle of the night with my air in my mouth. And because of the tape, my cheeks slightly bulge and the pressure of air in my mouth wakes me up. I naturally try to exhale through my mouth, but obviously that doesn’t work. So I have to figure out how to get the air back into my lungs and nasal passages in the middle of the night when I am dazed and confused and not thinking straight.
Hopefully I establish some muscle memory and am able to unconsciously deal with this situation in the future.

How do you tape with a FFM, to stop jaw drop?

taping doesn't stop jaw drop.
a firm foam cervical collar will.

Quick OP update.
I am still mouth taping and my leak problems have improved (and some nights, completely eliminated).
I still have non-mouth related leaks from the mask cushion seal getting broken, but overall I am quite happy with the general leak performance day to day (or in this case, night to night).

It helped me... some. If my jaw can't drop some, my overbite takes over (!) and my jaw is pushed back. Same with chin straps.

You don't. Do you have overbite? How much? If not much then soft cervical collar or chin strap will keep your jaw up. If you're like me then mouth taping tightly with lips tucked will let you relax and move your jaw forward. Supine all bets are off.
As noted below (above?), anything more than mouth-taping moves my jaw *back*, since my normal bite is not good for OSA. My dentist wanted to make me a bite guard ($)! I noted that the only time I clench my teeth is driving... and magnesium citrate is helping with that.
