How can I prevent this dreaded desert-like dry mouth freaking issue? I either wake up with my mouth cement shut by the dryness or feel like I was left alone in the desert and chugged a glass full of hot sand.
@Vako I’ll take a constructive stab at answering this / sharing my routine to prevent dry mouth. Hopefully, it helps you.

I use the Bleep Eclipse nasal interface. So I do mouth tape every night and find it essentially 100% successful.

1. I shave every 2-3 days. But to start shaving every day
2. I use Nivea aftershave - https://www.niveausa.com/products/sensi ... 20079.html - this hydrates well, which is critical to the tape I use.
3. Before bed wash face, dry _mostly_ but not completely. Leave a little moisture on your face - this helps the tape adhesion.
4. I use 3M 2” micropore tape - https://a.co/d/0OH13o0
To apply, use 6-7”, overlapping maybe 2” on either side. Fold a corner over to provide a tab for easier removal later. Form your lips into an “inverse kiss” - gently pull your lips in to your mouth. Apply the tape across your lips, maybe 1/2” below your nose (depends on your physiology). Press the tape thoroughly to your skin, I use both my finger pads and fingernails to make sure it’s thoroughly stuck.

On days I shave this never fails to remain well stuck for the night. That combined with the Bleep Eclipse yields zero leaks.

Hope this helps.
Thanks for your lengthy description. Unfortunately, I've taken that path to no avail. I've tried Hostage Tape, I tried the one from CPAP.com <--- worse of them all, I've been attempting Leukotape P Sports Tape, I've tried BSN Medical Cover Roll tape, I've gone as far as to use Hy-Tape, and that stuff is sticky as heck, almost pulls out your beard if you've shaven 🤷🏻, Chin straps.

The only thing that saves me a little bit is the Xylimelts that I stick two on my gums and last the whole night, so when I open my eyes in desperation for mouth breathing, I can produce saliva right away because of the mints.

I'm going to give this mask a try, but I won't hold my breath; as soon as he said " you can still breathe through your mouth if needed to " concerned me because my darn jaw seems to apply a lot of force to drop open that's why tapes don't work and I've put up to 3 layers, combine the tapes, etc 🤦🤷🏻

You read the reviews, and then based on experiences and ratings of others, you decide if you want to take a risk to see if the product works for you.

Considering the the cost of shipping would be well over the $3.00 restocking fee (if unopened), and a huge loss (cost of product and shipping) if it doesn't help help, then it's not unreasonable at all.

You seem to think that others should bear the risk and pay for the cost of you finding a product that works for you.
"You read the reviews, and then based on experiences and ratings of others, you decide if you want to take a risk to see if the product works for you.". Unfortunately nowhere on this planet you find a policy with that description only on CPAP.com
Read reviews and see if the product works for you? Are you serious?

Any "reputable" company, like hundreds I use/used, you buy the product, TRY IT, if it works then good if it doesn't you return it for an exchange no questions asked.

Some do 30 days, some 60, 90 and so forth. You can not have an exchange/return policy that says ( only if unused ) it's just ludicrous. You can NOT you look at the product and imagine yourself ok this will work, again it is not how "reputable" serious businesses apply their return/exchange policy. Heck even Amazon you buy a product use it for 30 days and if you want to return it they don't hit you with the restocking nonsense fee, THEY pay shipping to return/exchange no questions asked. That 1 out of 50 I can start naming that aren't all backwards with their policy as this junk. Sorry to say it like it is but no sorry 🤷🏻

I didn't say "Read reviews and see if the product works for you".

Reputable have an obligation to return defective products. They don't have an obligation to return products that simply don't work for you.

You should also read Amazon's return policy. On opened, non-defective products, the return policy is typically determined by the individual seller, not Amazon.

You don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Excuse me, you didn't say read reviews and see if the product works for you? You for sure need to take your pills, let me paste what you said verbatim

"You read the reviews, and then based on experiences and ratings of others, you decide if you want to take a risk to see if the product works for you." again take your pills if you are developing dementia.

I clearly stated A small example and I don't need to go and read what I've been a member for the past 15 years thank you.

Now go check Hollister, go check under armor, go check Armani, go check and check and check in an keep going. I don't know who you are brown nosing but the fact that this 🗑️ policy states returns for 30 days on UNOPENED products is rather ludicrous and stupid 🤷🏻. How are you going to know if something fits correctly given that not everything is 1 size fits all nor every S M L run the same on every product? Reading reviews and look for someone who resembles you? LOL you are a joke. I rest my case. No point in fueling the topic given you seem to profit for protecting idiocy. Happy New Year 🙏🏻

Thanks for proving my point:
  • "Read reviews and see if the product works for you"
and
  • You read the reviews, and then based on experiences and ratings of others, you decide if you want to take a risk to see if the product works for you.
Obviously, the difference is lost on you.

One can't necessarily, tell simply by reading the reviews, if a product will work them. But given enough positive reviews, one can tell, if it's worth taking the risk that the product will work for them.

Perhaps, none of the products work for you because you don't have the discipline to keep your mouth shut.

but a whopping 15% for a box of Mouth Tape?
A box of tape couldn't cost much. Send me your Venmo info and I'll send you the 15%.
