Good evening, all.
I'm curious to get some opinions on last night's report.
https://sleephq.com/public/d217bef8-6a3 ... 239525cf78
Behind the scenes....yesterday around noon, I got chilled to the core. Started running some fever and felt like I had been beaten with an elephant. Everything hurt. I took (2) Tylenol and went to bed just a tick after 8:30pm. I was covered up and cold until what I assume is somewhere between 9:30 and 10:30pm when my fever broke and I started sweating. I remember kicking off all of the covers before my wife made it to bed, and she says she thinks she came to bed at 10:30. Then this morning around 4:30-ish I started to wake up and was aware of my mask "farting" and I was restless until the alarm went off at 5:30. *For some odd reason, my machine shows me turning it off before 5:30, which I can assure you, I am not turning it off until my alarm goes off.
Anyway, long story I guess longer-er....lol. I am absolutely fascinated how I can see my pulse rate elevated while I was feeling like poo, and once I got past the distress of whatever it was, it drops back down to a reasonable level. Today, I feel absolutely fine. Like yesterday never happened. It is the weirdest thing ever.

Had you had any vaccinations during the 24 hours before your chills and fever? And have you taken a Covid test just to be on the safe side?
I’m glad you’re feeling back to normal.

No. No.
Thank you.

Definitely! Might have been a pair of them, too.

Generally speaking when we are ill, with whatever, we have to sort of take whatever data we see on the machine with a grain of salt especially so when we are under stress like when we are running a fever or in pain or just feeling crappy.
I did a quick run through of your last report and I saw pretty much what I expected....first part of the night a lot more "crappy sleep" evidence and later on after the fever broke the sleep quality improved quite a bit compared to at the beginning of the night. Still had quite few episodes of short lived arousal breathing but not nearly as much as at the beginning or even other non ill nights. Again maybe a couple of real asleep centrals but the bulk again seemed more post arousal.
You know that old saying "crap happens" or the more colorful version that I normally say.
It happens to all of us every now and then and not a darn thing we can do about it even if we can't blame it on some sort of virus. It's why we say "keep those settings for several nights before changing stuff" because we just don't sleep the same each night (even when not ill).

It was really amazing to see the data morph from one end of the spectrum to the other.

Yep. It does that and even a novice user can spot the dramatic changes.
A while back I had a night with the AHI of 9.4....WTH...

I had a nice mixture of OAs, Centrals and hyponeas.
Then I did some thinking and I had over done things working in my flower gardens and my old back was telling me "what a stupid thing for you to do old woman" and I slept horribly that night. Lots of tossing and turning and wake ups simply from pain. I did a quick scroll through the flow rate and a full 95% of that AHI were post arousal flagged events.
So I just laugh, shrug my shoulders, and agree that I was a very stupid old woman and I paid for it.
Typically about 75% of any AHI I might get is going to be post arousal flagged events. I just accept it and move on.
But normally my AHI averages around 1 to 2 ish so 75% of that being arousal related.....my asleep AHI is quite low and sometimes would be 0.0 if I could remove those post arousal flagged events.

pugsy will blame the aliens for stuff that happens in the middle of the night, which doesn't show up on oscar charts, on aliens. it's just another way of her saying she shrugs her shoulders and moves on.

the alien idea was more romantic though...

I'm curious to get some opinions on last night's report...
Increasing minimum to 10 cmH2O improved a lot of stuff, but I'd try bumping it up a bit more to try to get those inspiratory waveforms to look a little better and reduce more arousals.

Rubicon, thanks for the response.
I'll try going up a touch on the minimum pressure.
Over the weekend, I tried going back to my Nasal Cushion mask to see if my dry mouth came back...and it did, with a vengence.
I'm back on my Simplus mask, and slept much better last couple of nights. I'm just dealing with some mask leakage about an hour before my alarm goes off, and that's pretty dang annoying. It's like my skin is getting moist (not sure if saliva, sweat, or humidity) and that lets the silicone slide freely against my beard/skin and "burp" the excess pressure.
ETA: Here's a link to last night.

With the pulse oximeter you should have received some software, perhaps a link to it somewhere. Get that installed and run a report and post it. Specifically, looking at Pulse Events (+/- 6 from baseline).

BTW your oximetry data looks to be about 60 seconds out of sync with the CPAP data (not that that would stop the earth from rotating).
