Use of povidone iodine in cpap reservoir?

Post by Cook1974 » Mon May 29, 2023 8:12 pm

First post. I did a search for this topic and came up empty in these forums. I have been using C/APAPS over 20+ years.

I have allergies which I use a Navage with 2-4 drops of povidine iodine in the salt solution mixed in distilled water and was wondering if it's dangerous to add drops of povidone iodine (10%) to the Resmed Air 11 reservoir I'm currently using?

I search Google but came to a dead end. Of course, if there are no results, I should assume not to add the drops to my reservoir?
TIA

Isn't NOT finding evidence either way enough?
Why volunteer to be a guinea pig?
During a nasal rinse, exposure is minimal.
Breathing povidone iodine all night long has not been proven safe.
Iodine is enough of a nasal irritant that I can smell it in iodized salt.

Hey google, is breathing iodine safe?
The substance is severely irritating to the eyes and respiratory tract. The substance is irritating to the skin. Inhalation of the vapour may cause asthma-like reactions (RADS). Inhalation of the vapour may cause lung oedema.
Keep it out of your lungs.

Here's a few more results: https://www.google.com/search?channel=f ... odine+safe

Thanks everyone. I seen people use small amounts of diluted povidone iodine in these vapor pens to breath into the lungs. I suppose 7 hours worth would be a bit much.
Thanks again...

People vape a lot of things, some of them quite harmful, some of them fatal.

There seems to be no limit to the crazy, stupid ideas people get.
Are they so bored that they just want to DIE?
