Eclipse Halo Adhesive

Post by corgan115 » Thu May 11, 2023 10:36 am

Hey folks,

I know there are a few fellow bleepers on this board and I wanted to query if anyone has run into this. Towards the end of the night the adhesive on my halo starts to come loose and results in a slight but noticeable leak. To clarify I am NOT talking about the metal ring issue, this is the actual adhesive that is sticking to my nose. I can generally seal it back up for a bit by pressing as hard as possible on the part that is lose but it will often loosen up again before it's time for me to wake up.

Has anyone else run into this and possibly have any solutions? Or can anyone recommend something I can put on my nose that might help the adhesive stick better? I thought about using Cavilon wipes but as far as I can tell that just acts as a protective barrier between my skin and the adhesive. I don't believe it actually makes the adhesive stronger.

Thanks!

It's facial oils that is causing the adhesive to come loose from the skin on the nose.

The Cavilon is a barrier but what it is blocking is those facial oils from getting to the adhesive to cause them to come loose.

Thanks Pugsy, I will give it a shot then. I forgot to mention that my nightly bleep routing includes using isopropyl alcohol on the areas where the Halo's go. I opted for alcohol over witch hazel as I believe it is stronger. I also found something called "SKIN-TAC" - https://www.amazon.com/Skin-Tac-Liquid- ... B008IUA6DU

At first glance it seems like a skin friendly adhesive but reading closer I think it may just be another version of Cavilon, a skin barrier.

It is good to know that oily skin can be a problem.
Maybe more so, because my nose is almost as greasy as when I was 13.
I guess it's P10 for me, probably until I stop breathing.
