Dreamstation 2 quits during night

I've had my new replacement Dreamstation 2 for 4 weeks now. The past week, it's started quitting by itself in the middle of the night!! Alarming and irritating!! It's done it 5 nights, 3 of which it did it twice. Last night, it didn't record any Flowrate in Oscar, until I rebooted it after it quit at 4 a.m. I can't see any patterns in the Oscar charts prior to it quitting each time. My DME just says they'll send it in, which scares me for as long as it took to get a replacement in the replacement program! At least the DME has loaner machines now. Has anyone else had this occur? Got any recommendations? Thanks all!!

You might have a lemon.
Are you using the Auto Off feature? If so, you might try disabling it tonight.

Nope, only can be done via Care Orchestrator.
From...
DreamStation 2 CPAP/Auto CPAP Advanced Frequently Asked Questions: Provider
32. Are the Auto ON and Auto OFF settings available?
Yes. Both are adjustable in Care Orchestrator and not on the device.
The default for 'AUTO ON' is enabled. Not sure about 'AUTO OFF' as it's default isn't mentioned in the documents I've collected. Might be able to check to see if it's enabled by running the machine without wearing the mask and see if it shuts down after a period of time. Perhaps the DME might have access to Care Orchestrator, could check the setting, and possibly change it if needed.

Run the machine with the mask on. Disconnect the hose to see if the machine turns off. Hopefully his mask has a hose quick disconnect - makes it easier.

If anyone does this experiment make sure you allow a full minute for the "Auto OFF" feature to turn the machine off if you don't attach yourself to the mask. Trust me...it's a very long minute.
ResMed takes about 10 seconds but Respironics machines have always had it take around a minute.
I don't know about the other brands since I have ever used any other brand.
That Care Orchestrator thing is just another reason that I won't ever have another Respironics machine in my house.
It's one of several reasons in fact. I have heard of people not even being able to change the hose air temp unless they go to the DME and have the DME log in to the Care Orchestrator thing and change the hose air temp from there.
Stupid, stupid, stupid and a big deal breaker for me.

Sorry I forgot to include. Auto Off is not engaged. No ramp. Constant pressure. It also displays a message of Service Required and the whole display screen flashes. Kind of alarming the first time. Now I don't even take off my sleep mask. I've got it so I just unplug it at the wall, so I don't have to wake up much to run that under the machine routing channel.
I recall now, that the first time it quit and I rebooted it, I later got up for the bathroom and left if running. It never quit and I'd guess I as gone over a minute.
I haven't heard of this Care Orchestrator!! Isn't that what YouTube is for or is there other things beyond the Provider Menu?

Start thinking about how you will treat yourself to a Resmed--even a used one.
Nobody deserves to be kicked around; and you are entitled to better.

They started me on Respironics and I've stayed, a lot because they're 12V machines. ResMed is, or was, 24V, so you had to add an inverter. I camp between 20-30 nights a year. The straight 12V cord is handy!

I wonder if there's an issue with the power adapter? I suspect you've checked the connections were all tight and the wall plug isn't loose in the socket. If you haven't already tried, maybe run the DS2 on your camping power supply over night and see what happens.

And think of how much longer the battery lasts when the machine isn't running half the night.
All kidding aside; Yes, resmeds are a 24v machine, but that doesn't mean you must use an inverter. ResMed sells a DC-DC converter that converts from 12vdc-24vdc, so you can use a 12vdc source. Not as cheap, as a simple cable, but way more efficient than inverting.

I've used mine twice.
One for a planned electrical shutdown in my condo. The power was on when I went to bed, and on when I got up, but was off for about 4 hours. Slept right through it, on battery.
Then about 6 months ago there was a electrical shutdown through the night. I woke up, plugged into my battery, and went back to sleep. No problem.
