When I say the other machines did not work I mean that I was ALWAYS waking up with my mask on the floor.
An iVAPS machine isn't going to keep your mask on.

But wouldn't my primary doctor mention any issues with my breathing when I go for my physicals?
Depends.

Is he more interested in you or the next payment on his Lexus?

IIWY I'd get and keep copies of the PFTs to make sure they are, in fact, "perfectly fine" (AAMOF I'll wager that at least 2 parameters are NOT "perfectly fine"). Also you should be tracking trends so you'll know at what point you should have quit smoking 20 years ago. BTW how many packs per day do you smoke?
Thankfully I believe she is a good doctor. She takes her time with you unlike some doctors and is always on my case for my weight and smoking. She put me on blood pressure meds and they have worked great. Also, the medicine she has me on for my cholesterol has worked wonders.

Good idea on the PFT tests, I'll try to get copies.

I normally smoke almost a pack a day, some days a pack. I hate to tell you how long I have been smoking. This combo always surprises my primary when my lung CT always comes out perfect.

That's even better! Silicone plugs stick to silicone much better than memory foam. The silicone f20 cushion is different than the AirTouch f20. It has a wider shape of the cushion walls, so you may have to apply it differently than what I specified in my instructions. I've tried Airfit f20 before with and without silicone gaskets, but that was a long time ago and I forgot the technique. I found AirTouch f20 to be way more comfortable and less painful on my face.

it looks like you have air touch f20 as your mask in your signature, you need to change it to AirFit f20.

I do? I will ck it out. Thank you.

If I don't get this leak biz out of the way I'll definitely look into your suggestion!

Thank you.

Not sure why, but the ONLY one of all the other machines I tried that I didn't end up throwing my mask to the floor unknowingly, is this one. The problem, again, is not feeling rested. I guess part of the issue is if the doctor prescribed the right mode setting on the machine. This time it was prescribed to be set in iVAPS mode, last time it wasn't. The last time I had this machine things were trending well WITH adjustments from Sleeprider. I had tried the iVAPS setting then, but it wasn't a good fit. Unfortunately, I could not keep the machine and had to turn it in. This was 2019.

An issue with trying to treat unstable OSA with iVAPS is that the algorithm (as set here) is incredibly slow to respond to events, and conversely incredibly quick to return to inadequate settings, so you end up chaining events:

IDK what happened here. WAG decreased EPAP combined with supine sleep maybe.

Treating SWJ with increased Ti.

Never considered that!

Very bold!

So to make this bet credible, I'll tell you which 2 PFT values will be abnormal-- FRC and FEF 25-75 (there may be others, but those will be caused by these two).

Hi Rubicon. I think the slow response is definitely an issue. I'm hoping we figure out if I should switch my mode out of iVAPS if the tweaks don't work. Last night I had my Ti Max changed to 2.4 from 2.0 and it seems beneficial to some degree. Actually, I'd prefer to get out of iVAPS mode.

Last night's chart looks better than the previous chart, at least AHI wise. (I will also upload it to SleepHq and post link in next post). I actually "slept" a little longer than I have been. Went to bed about midnight and didn't get up for the day until about 5 ish. But I'm off work today, so that may have played a role.

Also, if anyone is interested, I found my PAP DEVICE STATS from 2019 on. I had no clue I was on the variety of device types listed. I am also including it in this post.

BTW get this oximeter. Use Amazon if the price is better.

https://getwellue.com/pages/o2ring-oxygen-monitor

It's an entry-level oximeter, but easily interfaced so overall an OK choice.

Can you tell me where that is or take an image and crop it?

I'm actually on the road using a Chromebook and having trouble zooming in on images.
