Full Face Mask Reccomendations

Post by F3adventure » Wed Mar 22, 2023 8:47 pm

I know this is a highly subjective topic but I am curious about favorite full-face masks There are so many to choose from and I don't know how to go about picking one. It would be great if there was a reference chart that listed the features or design elements for each mask.

My situation, over the years I have acquired multiple machines. I have one for home, one at my fiance's house, and one I keep in my truck for spontaneous travel or emergency backup situations. The mask I use is a ResMed Mirage Quattro M. It is very comfortable for me but I always have big leak rates in the data. I like to keep plenty of spare parts available to support the three machines which can get quite expensive. I am currently low on parts and want to restock, which brings me to the question- should I stick with my current mask or is there a latest and greatest FF mask out there? I have read some comments from some well-respected members here who were not fans of the quality or design of the ResMed Mirage Quattro. My local DME was pretty shady the last time I interacted with them so I am not very interested in their recommendations. Which brings me to this- what are your opinions on this mask, or recommendations for masks that may be a good replacement option for this model? Any input you care to share is appreciated.

-Thanks!

Why not post Oscar results for a couple of nights so we can see what's what. You'll need to do it on Imgur.com and post that link here - forum attachments are filled up.

If you have been using the Quattro, and like it, I would stay with FF masks that have the forehead support. Check out the F&P Vitera.

I was using a mask very similar to the Quattro (see.photo on my Avatar) and didn't really mind it. I was intrigued by photo of the F&P Evora full face mask and decided to give that a try. Took some fiddling with it, but now that I've got it adjusted properly, it's more comfortable than the Quattro, gives me equally good therapy, and I've decided to stay with it.

Hi all, Thanks for the replies!

Julie, I'm not so tech-savvy but will try. Do I just take a screenshot? Is there a way to zoom out to get more data in the screenshot? Is there particular data that I should focus on that is helpful for this conversation?

I really hate feeling so technologically helpless, but I do appreciate all the help and support!

Thanks!

I went through several ResMed FF masks before giving up on ResMed masks. They either gave me leaks or terrible sites on the bridge of my nose. I liked the FF under the nose by ResMed, but leaks kept me awake. My dream mask is the Evora by Fisher & Paykel. My DME seemed to push ResMed products, but their mask did not work for me. I truly enjoy using the Evora FF. Buy the fit pack that includes all sizes in the masks and give it a try. It has an additional adjustment site at the top of the head which helped it to fit properly. If it doesn’t work for you, return it within 30 days and you haven't lost anything.

I am thinking of switching from the F&P Evora nasal to the FFM. One question I have is - do I have to do something special in terms of my mouth? When I used the ResMed Airfit F10, it had a by design rocking motion, but I had problems with that. Is that an issue with the Evora FFM? My sleep lately has been terrible partly due to leaks.
