Exactly what model bilevel machine are you using?

The Prisma Smart seems to be a single pressure and not a bilevel pressure machine.
It does seem to have both a fixed cpap mode and an auto adjusting mode but still a single pressure.

I can maybe find the manual for the bilevel but I need to know exactly what the name is.

I suspected as much but wanted to confirm. My heart goes out to you and yours.
Thank you for your support! Without your help, we would not have survived and would have already been occupied by Russia. But thanks to joint efforts, we will defeat the enemy who encroaches on the freedom of peoples.By joining forces, the democratic world will defeat the dictatorships that start wars and want to enslave free countries. Ukraine should become a lesson for such countries as Iran, China and North Korea, so that they understand that aggression against free countries will definitely be punished. History repeats itself, once the allies could have stopped Hitler even before the start of the war, but they didn't do it...

What were your cpap settings? All of them?
And what are your bilevel machine settings? All of them??? Are they fixed or auto adjusting.
Are you saying that your IPAP (inhale) is 12 and bottom pressure (called EPAP/exhale pressure) is 4?
That means your PS/pressure support (which is the difference between inhale and exhale) is 8 and that's extremely high PS for someone with plain old obstructive sleep apnea. Definitely could be contributing to the chipmunk cheeks and to be honest....not the best settings for OSA anyway and could potentially cause additional problems with central apneas.
This would be fixed settings.

But maybe you are using auto adjusting settings?????

I am not familiar with your particular brand bilevel machine but I am familiar with bilevel machines in general since I have used one for years.

Do you know how to get into the clinical menu settings area where you can see ALL the settings and/or make changes to mode or pressures or whatever?
Thank you very much for your concern!Don't worry, I'll handle everything. I needed to hear if there was a connection between the chipmunk's cheeks and my machine settings. My BiPAP machine is a Prisma 25S, which is set up by my doctor. For some reason, she does not know what chipmunk cheeks are and what settings they depend on. If the doctor refuses to adjust my BiPAP tomorrow, I will go back to SiPAP. I had two great nights of sleep on CIPAP with the F30I mask! So for now, I needed confirmation that the chipmunk's cheeks depend on the device settings.

Someone else will have to help with battery discussion. I have zero experience with batteries.
Where you are at in Ukraine are you experiencing rolling black outs where you know when the power will be back on or is it a situation where you could be without power for 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week or whatever?
Currently, the lights are not turned off. In winter, there was electricity for two hours, the next 3-4 hours there was no electricity. At night, the situation was better, the electricity was turned off less often, but not always. The war continues and you need to prepare. When blackouts start, it is very difficult to buy any batteries.

It's a maybe thing. I can't say with 100% certainty since people have the same problem and they aren't using your same settings. Worth trying though.

Near as I can tell the Prisma 25S is a bilevel machine with 3 modes of operation.
1...cpap mode which is a fixed single pressure
2...auto bilevel which is the bilevel/2 pressures and it auto adjusts as need
3...bilevel that is fixed...can't auto adjust.

Battery life will depend on several factors like the pressures used and if you are using added humidity or not.
The higher the pressure the more power it consumes and then using the humidifier will use even more power and the heated hose also uses even more power.
Here in the USA most people who end up needing to use a battery will turn off the humidity or heated hose so that their battery will last longer.

The type of battery to look for though....one of those deep cycle batteries and not just a general vehicle starting battery.
Look for a battery suitable for a golf cart or scooter.

Good luck. I don't know if Lowenstein has some sort of software available so you can monitor your therapy details but I think it probably does but I have no idea where to get it. Sorry.

These settings are disabled for me. Unfortunately, without the software, I can't see or change anything. Contact the manufacturer, maybe he can help.

I saw that and when I went to the link to check it out it looked like the manual was for the Prisma Smart model (single pressure but cpap and apap modes available) and not the 25S model which is the bilevel model.
Or at least that is what it appeared to be to me but how to get to the clinical setup menu area is going to be the same but I didn't read through the manual to see if it told the secret handshake.
I don't get the sense that the OP is yet comfortable enough with all this to go changing settings himself just yet.
Still too nervous about all this. Totally understandable.

Actually all these machines have a secret "handshake" of sorts that will get you past those disabled settings.
Usually just a little combination of button pushing will get you in but I have no idea what the secret code is for the Prisma models.

So if you could find that secret code or button pushing thing...you could get into the machine and change the settings.
It's not rocket science.
We do it here in the US all the time and it's not hard at all once you know the secret handshake.
I just hold down a couple of buttons for about 3 seconds and at the same time and I am in and I can change anything I want.

You would need the clinical/provider manual though and not the typical user manual. User manuals won't tell people the secret code.

I have a source for the Prisma Smart provider manual but not the Prisma 25 S model....though historically all brands use the same secret handshake within their brand's models.
I don't remember if Zonker's link was for user manual or provider/clinician manual.
If you want to try changing things yourself I can try to find the secret handshake for you.

yes and it's going to become harder and harder to help folk with these outlying brand of machines, until someone comes by and starts telling us what the handshake is.

i hate to sound pessimistic (froggy, you readin' this?) but i'm wondering if this is the manufacturers intent?

(i actually didn't read through the whole manual. i got as far as menu selection and made some assumptions.)

I did look a little deeper at your link but couldn't find the secret handshake.
I just requested the Weinmann prisma25S manual from the apneaboard. It will take a little while but I will get the secret handshake.....I think.

Here's the secret handshake from the manual.
The manual is available from the apneaboard
https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap- ... tup-manual
You have to request the Weinmann prisma25S and you get a combo manual that covers a number of different machines but the handshake is going to be the same with all of the machines.
