OT--my tablet had a virus; cured now

I get a message on my tablet every time I started anything.
The message was spoofing Verizon's customer service number.
We had to reset to factory specs.
The verizon bloatware really gets pissed off if you want to use your tablet on wifi,
instead of feeding their bottomless piggybank.
Hahaha--I feel so much better now.

What kind of tablet? If it's Apple, they might be able to help you. I doubt very much Verizon will. Have you tried a different browser or uninstalling and reinstalling the browser you like to use? It may be a PITA forcing you to reset bookmarks and such, but worth a try.

It's a samsung tablet, loaded with the permanent verizon bloatware,
Which I ignore--but this"ALERT!" started about a week ago,
with verizon's customer service number.
I called--and the operator has a heavy foreign accent, so no info from me!
I will try reloading firefox--or use another browser.

I decided I might have a virus, so we zapped the tablet back to factory specs.
It seems to have worked.
Think good thoughts for me.
