Lots of events before waking

Post by BioXTC » Sat Jan 28, 2023 10:31 am

I've noticed that my average AHI went from ~0.9, to consistently over 4 for the last week or so (and I've been feeling tired and extra brain foggy), so I loaded up oscar and imported everything. It looks like my events are pretty low throughout most of the night, but I'll randomly have a period of high events. I don't seem to be experiencing mask leaks (is it possible to have an oral leak without it registering?), so I'm trying to figure out why.

You may be experiencing sleep-transition central apneas. These occur as the body's neurochemical systems manage the complex hand-off between waking systems and sleeping systems (and vice versa). I don't know why they would have started appearing just recently.

I'm curious to know why your settings include PS of 6, which is on the high side. Do you know?

I'm not sure, I had a combination sleep study/titration (AHI of like ~45) and that's what they landed on.

Do you feel comfortable changing your settings? If you do, you might try reducing your PS to 5. This might help to stabilize your breathing. Or not. It would be an experiment, if you’re OK trying it. It can’t hurt you.
