Airsense 11 humidifier issues

Post by usone123 » Wed Jan 11, 2023 3:16 pm

HI, I have been using my new airesense 11 since around May. I had a philips respironics system one previously for years. I use a regular tube, not heated. The problem I'm having is that when I have the humidity low, I wake up parched with my mouth practically glued shut. That's if I have it set at 5 or below. If I set it at 6 or 7 I wake up parched but my face is wet from dripping. I tried 8 once but had to switch it because it just dripped all over me and drove me nuts.

I keep my house at 68 and I have no idea the humidity in here or how to check it.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Rae

Is your machine located below your mattress so excess water runs to it and not to you?

Heated hose should eliminate the rainout. You could try a hose cover to insulate your standard hose.
Xylimelts work great for dry mouth

No, right next to it. I drape my hose above my head on a hook so I don't get tangled in it.

I bought a Hygrometer at Home Depot for around $15. I found out that the humidity in my bedroom was around 20%,( way too dry) so the Airsense 11 was using all the water before morning. I bought an inexpensive room humidifier at Walmart, and I use it when it is cold outside and the heat is on, and the bedroom is dry. Now the humidity in the room is over 40% in the morning, and there is water left in the APAP tank in the am.
