I started with the full nose an mouth mask which caused me to break out with acne around where the mask seats. I tried the nose pillows and woke up with a bloody nose because the air was too dry. I turned up the humidity and I wake up to the smell of burning plastic, with my reservoir completely dry after 7 hours. However, sleeping through an entire night makes all the problems seem miniscule. Albeit the problems are inconvenient, but falling asleep while driving is life-threatening.

Dear Pugsy and all,

Thank you for your help. By way of update - I went without cpap for almost two weeks and the sore beneath my nose healed up, or so I thought. Went back to my nasal mask I've been using for a long time, but the area beneath my nose became irritated again after one night! Next tried the Air Touch FF20, the one with the foam cushions. No irritation to the beneath nose sore AND it hasn't irritated the bridge of my nose so far! HOWEVER, with the FF my normally very low AHI went up to 8. Leaks were low, so what happened? Please help. Posting last night's OSCAR data (FF 20 with high AHI) (first file) and the night before's (Dreamwear Beneath Nose nasal mask) (second). Thanks so much!

Trying to attach files - what am I doing wrong? I hit "Attach files" and choose the screenshots, then hit Submit. Yikes!

There is a file size limit for attachments. Too big and they won't attach.
The limit is 1 MB. Check your file size.

Actually it isn't all that uncommon for people to have an increase in AHI with a full face mask use compared to a nasal mask
It's common to need more pressure with a full face mask than is needed with a nasal mask to attain same results.
Assuming the bulk of the AHI is obstructive events (OAs and hyponeas).

Hello Pugsy,

Thank you for explaining about the attachment size. I will check.
To answer your question, the bulk of my events are OAs and hyponeas. My pressure settings now are 6 minimum and 10.6 max. What do you suggest I increase them to?
The FF mask even with foam memory cushions causes redness and irritation where it hits if I wear it more than two nights in a row. Then there's the nasal mask which causes the severe sore beneath my nose. I've tried many masks and the one I'm about to try is the Bleep dream ports. It may be that I will have to keep alternating masks to avoid pain and irritation to my sensitive skin. I'm running out of ideas. Dental appliance moved my teeth which also hurt. Have you heard anything about the implant device thing? I'm wary of anything implanted.

I need to see the detailed report before I can even hazard a guess.

Sometimes people need 2 to 4 cm more minimum pressure when using a full face mask...sometimes maybe as little as 1 cm.
Then of course sleeping position is a factor as well as REM.
I don't like guessing without having some sort of basis to guess on.

I keep trying to post my OSCAR data but my files must be too large. How do I send them through to you? Can I make them smaller?

Looks like the forum attachment storage is full again.
Repeated problem.

I alternated masks for at least a year,
because each did bad things to my face/teeth.
I was convinced that no masks were designed for me.
(OK, frogs are a bit different)

Have you tried moleskin over the affected area?

Robert,
I did try moleskin padding - is that what you mean? I think the one I bought was too thick - 4- 1/8 in. x 3-3/8 in. When I used it, air was leaking out. Do you think I should try again but with thinner padding?
Thanks
