ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet or ResMed AirSense 10

ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet

Hey everyone:
After this whole situation with the CPAP recall, I submitted my information to both PCP and Lincare to order another CPAP.
Here in the forum, its been unaminous that the preference has been towards the ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet. So that is the one that I requested to purchase.
I'll spare you all the gorey details as to how the whole process has gone. HINT: Facility that provides DME.
When I found out from here what to purchase, ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet, that is what I've been trying to communicate with my physician and Lincare.
Thought we were all on the same page.
I call today wondering what the status is. Low and behold, CPAP is ready for pickup. Wait...I forgot to confirm what I'm picking up. Come to find out that I'm getting the ResMed AirSense "10" AutoSet, not the ResMed AirSense "11" AutoSet as I originally thought and requested.
Appointment is set for Friday for pickup.
Before going to appointment, I wanted to ask you all. What do you think of the ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet?
After checking Lincare's website, that is the only version of the ResMed AirSense AutoSet they sell. 10 not 11. That was not what I was told.
So again I ask the question: Is getting the ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet a reasonable purchase? Or should I put my foot down and insist on getting what I originally asked for and thought I was going to get, the ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet?

I do - I mean I think so.
Esp. if you use a battery. afaik there is not yet a battery cable for the AS11 and the AS 10 has any bugs already worked out.
I never go with the 1st year of any new model changes esp with cars.

Just smile and Let them feel like they sneaked one over on you.

The AS10 is as good or better than the As11. Most of the new As10 machines do not have a modem so you cannot use the MyAir app. If you are not relying on the app...Go with the AS10.

I started therapy last spring with an AirSense 11 AutoSet. About two months ago, I dropped it and damaged the heating element. I intend to send it out for repair, and for use in the meantime I bought a used AirSense 10 AutoSet, which I have been using now for about two weeks. In my opinion, it's pretty much a toss-up; I haven't noticed any difference in my therapy. If I were doing it again, I'd go with the AirSense 10, simply because it's cheaper, and I'm self-pay.

I have both. I am about 90 days into the AirSense 11 Autoset.
Both are excellent machines. The 10 is very marginally quieter, probably due to the motor. This is almost not noticeable.
The 11 uses the same smaller motor as the the AirMini. The Airsense 10's available now, mostly don't have the modem, so they won't work with my air via the cell communications.

The screens are a bit different. The 11 has a touch screen. It may be more difficult to use if you mis-touch a spot. The knob on the 10 is easy to use.
I had problems with leaking tubs on the 10. While most users probably don't have that, issue, it was enough of a problem for me, that I decided on the 11.
I also like to convenience of the My Air app.

For me there is absolutely no difference in the therapy.

The one real difference between the AS11 and the A10 is that the AS11 combines two therapy modes in one machine.
ResMed developed an "Autoset for Her" algorithm. You won't find it available in a regurlar AutoSet 10. You will find both algorithms in the AutoSet 10 For her machines, and in the AS11.
See if you can get the AS (i.e. AutoSet) 10 for Her, instead of the AS10.
Some people find they do better with the "For Her" algorithm. But some do better with the regular.

Question to anyone who knows the newer, modem-less AS10: Any chance ResMed sneaked in the AutoSet for Her algorithm into those newer versions?

All I really noticed in his post was the tiny difference in the AHI. Upon re-reading and then noting what he high-lighted, agreed he's probably suggesting no difference.

You read it correctly.

I don't have the 11 to compare, but the 10 is a fine machine.

Here it says:
Integrated “For Her” Version: With the AirSense 11, there’s no longer a “For Her” or “For Him” version as with the previous line of machines. There’s now an exclusive AutoSet For Her therapy mode built into the machine’s algorithm, which can be set in the menu settings, making it a two-in-one machine.

So how do I find this "AutoSet for Her"? If there are two sets of algorithms, I'll use whatever setting it is now for a couple of weeks, I'm thinking three weeks. Then I'll switch to the other algorithm for another three weeks. May the better algorithm win.

1/6/2023 I went to pick up my CPAP today. I initially requested a ResMed AirSense 11 APAP; I called prior to appointment and was told I was getting a ResMed AirSense 10; Now I go to pick it up and I received a ResMed AirSense 11 APAP.

You go into clinical mode and select the Algorithm you want.
