Chinstrap ID

Post by loggerhead12 » Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:57 pm

I bought this a few years back. If I recall correctly it was kind of a cottage industry seller, and now I can't find it. Anyone recognize it and know where I can get another one?

Google has a "search for similar image option" - can you take a photo on a uniform background? Never tried it personally so I don't know.

If you keep copies of your email, maybe a search for "chinstrap" will bring up the receipt or order confirmation or something like that?

It reminds me of a mouth cover device, not really a chinstrap.
It was mentioned on the forum several years ago.
Put it on (yourself or a surrogate)--and take another picture.
Maybe someone will recognize it.
I think a forum wag used an image from the creator's ad in a meme.
It was promoted as a snore-stopper.
It looked like an old guy wearing a muzzle.

Isn't that one of those "Ultimate Chinstraps"? I never used one but did chat with Russ (inventor) about it a while back.

As the good Froggy said, it looks like something Hannibal Lecter would wear.

I sleep with a chin strap and a headband that covers my mouth but it is not working as well as I would like. This looks interesting and I just ordered one to try.

After trying it, your review would be appreciated.

I have used this chin strap now for a few nights. It has great promise, but I think I may need a smaller size. The first night I used it I kept dreaming of being constrained. Even so, the part that is supposed to hold the chin and keep the jaw closed does not work well for me. My jaw still opens easily and I find myself working to hold my mouth closed, no matter how tightly I strap it. I am not giving up yet, but it was not the magic fix I was hoping to find.

may i suggest a firm foam cervical collar? works well for me-
https://www.amazon.com/Vive-Neck-Brace- ... ljaz10cnVl

this is not the one i currently use. i'm posting as an example only.

also they can be found in the home health care (or some such) at your local drugstore.

i use this in conjunction with scunci hairbands and i have no mouth leaks.

good luck!

The large size is quite large. It fits me, and I have a huge head. Like hat size 8.5. I bought the extension thinking it wouldn't be big enough and have never used it.

What were your leaks like using the chinstrap? I've found that it doesn't have to be super tight.

Rather than a problem with leaks, I have a problem of vanity, lol. I don't like the creases I get in my hair with the chin strap I have been using. Of course this chin strap also has significant potential for causing hair issues. I can't complain about my therapy, just looking for the sharpest needle in the haystack.

I am looking for the same advice. It’s not the cheek straps that bother me, but the indentation left on the top of my head. Still hoping some other vain person has a solution.
