Pretty darn secure. If you try to just yank things apart you may feel like you are pulling the end of your nose off.

Official advice is when it comes time to remove the frame/hose....slide the magnets apart to release and don't try to just yank them apart.

Oooh, that's good to hear! Maybe the same for me as well. Hmm, should I call to check...

For those that pre ordered last summer....like I did.
I finally got the notice today that my shipment has shipped from SureSeal.
No ETA yet. I suspect sometime the first of next week it will arrive.

I got mine as well! :D

I am cautiously hoping for delivery today, as it shipped from a neighboring city, about 25 miles away. UPS does SAY today, but...

Fingers crossed!

I too received the message from SureSeal and really looking forward to receiving the order soon in spite of being in the Northwestern part of the US.

UPS says mine will arrive next week too.

Do the beta testers have any tips / pitfalls to be aware of on switching to halos from dreamports? Any change (even good ones), usually bring some challenges.

I'm used to holding onto / applying, using the plastic port. I even peer down the barrel in the mirror to help me line up. So I’m wondering about applying the halos.

Side question -- Are halo’s recyclable?
Total non-issue to switching, just curious. It was a selling point with dreamports, but I haven’t heard anything about halos.

As far as whether or not dreamports will be discontinued, I personally think it was assumption, rather than gossip. I think many people assumed that eclipse was “bleeps 2.0”, and not a separate/independent product line, but then that’s another assumption ;-)

Recycle or re use?

The adhesive itself only works to stick just the once. They can't be reused.
Now there is a way to re-use the metal ring that the magnets attach to but it isn't easy and involves some work and until/if someone has some more adhesive product it would be a waste of energy. If someone can come up with a cost effective adhesive to use I can explain in more detail.

I find applying the halos MUCH easier, faster, better.
I can put my finger over the hole in the halo and stick it right on the nostril opening and press with my finger. Super easy.

That is a good question. I remember, starting out, trying to figure out where to hold on while applying, because I too held the port. I just try to be really careful, trying to use my (shortish even though I'm a woman) fingernails to hold the lower edge of the adhesive to avoid oils from my fingers. And once I got used to that, which was actually quickly enough that when I saw your question I thought, "Huh?", I think it's a little easier to apply the Halos because I can actually see a little better that I'm placing them correctly over the nasal opening.

I did ask Stuart about whether the Halos (metal washers) are recyclable, because each morning I would pull the plastic ports off the adhesive and toss them into a box next to the bed. They made quite the noise when I finally tossed them all into the recycle bin! He said yes, the metal washers (not the adhesive) ARE recyclable, but those I have not done yet because in the beta program, we had to reuse the actual round metal washer, on NEW adhesive strips. But I guess same thing, in the recycle bin? They are not recyclable in the sense that you can reuse the washer/adhesive assembly again another night. Does that make sense or did I totally confuse you?

Any other questions, just ask.

When I beta tested I separated the adhesive from the metal ring and gave the rings to my husband. He is a McGyver kinda guy and undoubtedly find a use for them down the road. He also does things with the hoses when they croak.

Reuse beats the snot out of recycling.
I had considered turning my used CGM circuit boards into jewelry.
(They would have been way cool, but would need to be embedded in resin
to prevent tangling in hair or getting scratched on them.)
As for a washer-like metal ring--chain links? Earrings?

Has Stuart considered a recycling program? Send back your used magnets for re-use?
