Still trying to find good settings, I went full Lanky Lefty mode last night.
CPAP only, No EPR although I did use my humidifier (I'm not that crazy)
That sounds like an incredibly intelligent thing to do!
Pressure appears low to me at 13...from the extremely zoomed out view.
No EPR appears to be good.
Humidifier good (with a nasal/nasal pillow and tape and you're a savage.)
I'm thinking 14 or 15 for the pressure, again from the completely zoomed out view.
There are also definite periods of jaw dropping, one smack in the middle of REM...so try using a soft cervical collar or a chinstrap (knightsbridge or something like it)

Can you point these specific areas out, especially the "REM" one?

TIA.

Without the EPR, your flow limitations are back up. But with AHI numbers this good, really the only question is how well you're sleeping and how you feel the next day. If you feel better with EPR off, then keep it off. Similarly, you can try 14 or 15, but if you feel better at 13, then stay at 13.

Hey everyone, I wanted to share an update on my sleep apnea treatment. Last night, I had the opportunity to use a different machine. Due to the Philips recall, I received a long overdue DreamStation 2.
I noticed pressure spikes on the machine's graph during use. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this issue?

I now have a choice to make and could use your advice. Should I continue using the new DreamStation 2, or continue with the Resmed 10 which already has many hours of use on the machine? I appreciate any insights you may have.

Thanks!

it's one of the many differences twixt resmed and resperonics. the latter keeps testing with those little spikes just to see if it's needed. resmed doesn't.

if'n i had such a choice, i'd use the resmed as the primary machine and the other as backup. why? because i feel like i get better treatment with resmed. and i'm saying that as someone who has used both.

if that resmed goes kaput on you in the future, you can use the backup while you have the resmed either repaired or replaced.

Thanks for getting back to me! I'm gonna test out the Dreamstation 2 for a few more nights. Since you've tried both machines, do you know how to turn off AutoStart on the Dreamstation 2? Also, I'm using a Resmed Quattro FX FFM and I'm not sure which mask option to choose - there's OFF and X1 to X5. Appreciate your help!

no sir. i merely meant i'd used A resperonics machine, not THE one you have.

but you might want to search youtube to see if there is any info there.

good luck!

That's Respironics stupid way of poking at you to see if changing pressure will make your breathing any better.

The stupid way of doing it is that it only does that poking when your breathing is really smooth and regular, and needs nothing, but as soon as your breathing is irregular, then the machine stops doing anything and takes a coffee break.

The Resmed is a better machine.

Thanks for the replies. I will use the Resmed until the the wheels fall off and keep the DS2 as a backup.

Disappointed that it has founder but not flounder.
