Dreamstation 2 mask types

Post by OldGuy55 » Tue Dec 06, 2022 11:26 am

The Dreamstation 2 documentation tells you to find the resistance (X0, X1, etc) for various masks on the packaging for the masks. I am guessing that only newly manufactured masks will have that information, as I cannot find it the packaging I have (some of which were just delivered a couple of days ago) and need some help, please.

First, I should say that I apparently have absurdly sensitive skin - my dermatologist suggested that I rotate my use of a few different mask types to prevent skin irritation. So while I mostly use either a Wisp mask or an AirFit F-20, I also have a few others that go under the nose that I use on occasion. I only have new packaging for the Wisp and AirFit masks, but none of those packages provides any information on the new "X" settings, although I did find "Device Setting Full face" on the AirFit.

Does anyone know of a resource providing the proper "X" setting for various masks? I tried Google and found plenty of links to the settings used in the original Dreamstation, but none for the new way they refer to it on the Dreamstation 2. <sigh>

Thanks!

X1 is the typical setting for full-face and nasal masks. Pillows would use X2 for large, X3 for medium, and X4 for small. It is similar to Resmed and their mask type settings. If you stick with X1 or X2 it should be fine.
Sometimes it is the very people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one imagines
