What is ResMed AirView?

Post by CowFish » Wed Nov 30, 2022 1:26 pm

How does a CPAPer sign up for it? How does machine data get to the provider?

TIA!

Google it for your own damn self. It doesn't answer the most important question.

So much for your TIA. There is no need to snarl at zonker for providing you with links that do, in fact, answer your question.

If you bothered to click on the links, you would have found the answer to your "most important question" staring you in your face.

As zonker pointed out: Resmed's AirView is geared towards professionals: The registration process requires you to be part of a medical provider group of some sort---i.e. a home medical equipment provider, a sleep lab, a doctor's practice or a dentist's practice. So mere patients can't sign up for it.

What a knob. You have the square foot of f&*k-all chance of getting any useful assistance here with that kind of cockwomble attitude, but I’m sure there are some lovely anger management forums out there.

By becoming a doctor, or a DME.

Let us know how that works out for you.

Machines with 4G modems: machine pushes data to ResMed mothership daily over cellular network. Detailed data goes to the central AirView database at Resmed and summary data goes to a separate MyAir database.

Card to Cloud machines or 3G modem machines: Patient pops SD card out, e-mails certain files to Authorized Dealer who then uploads to ResMed via their AirView software. Nothing goes to MyAir.

Provider gets machine CX (serial) number from patient and enters it into their AirView software. This enables them to view the data stored by ResMed. I believe they have always had the ability to read in data to AirView from the SD card as well.

So effectively, ResMed has the "Device Data" by default from 4G machines. A provider enters patient "Personal Data" such a Name, DOB, etc. into AirView along with the machine serial number which makes the connection between the machine and the patient for both the provider and ResMed.

You're an OG forum member. I'm curious: are you switching to ResMed from another manufacturer?

Thank you. That says everything I need to know. This is for a friend with a new machine. Before she was never able to use MyAir because of living in a remote area without access to a cell tower. She has Viasat, but we never figured out how to use that for MyAir. We were hoping she could use it for AirView. Sounds like not. She will have to continue using an OSCAR printout for compliance proof.

Cheerio.

Witty repartee is hopefully not on your CV. But, given your obvious lack of social skills one must make allowances.

MyAir is mostly useless junk.

MyAir runs off of Bluetooth/proximity, not cellular tower.

Nobody likes a rude bastard.

The original question was about AirView, but I have some comments on your reply.

For proof of compliance, it may be enough. That is what the original poster was trying to achieve.

Only on the Airsense 11. For Airsense 10 and Aircurve 10 machines, the myAir phone app will use the cell-to-cloud info stored at ResMed. Not having an Airsense 11 myself, I assume this would be similar to viewing the "More Info" myAir section of the Sleep Report screen on an AS10, only on your phone instead of the little screen.

Some people take "lmgtfy" as an insult. I see they've started calling this forum the "Zoo" but I think of it more as the "Cranky Clubhouse." The original poster has been in the club for ten years.
