I'm at least as independent as your average DME.

Oh, wait, I think I'm confusing threads.

And strings and sealng wax.

And fishing line.

Because we've definitely entered the twilight zone with Wanderlusty Uncle Nicko trying to get at CPAPtalk and Brother Palerider . . .

At 0:24

Not appropriate.

Just sayin'.

I will no longer be giving SleepHQ-associated matters any benefit of the doubt, myself.

Hey, just me.

right there with you.

but the question remains....what happens when sleephq users come here for advice on the charts generated by sleephq?

i'm assuming that the good folks here who can help out by divining charts (hat tip to jlfinkels!) will continue to help, no matter what the source of said charts?

hmmm?

Those needing help take precedence over any concerns about dancing YouTube clowns, I would say. Always help newbies no matter what they use, or think, or believe, or are worried about. It's their lives (and quality of life) at stake, after all. At least that's how I see it.

i'm hoping so. while i hate to see a forum member attacked(particularly without context, as nicko did.) i've got to bear in mind that the newbie coming here needs help without regard to the source of her/his charts.

but i will refrain, from this moment on, from suggesting sleephq to absolute newbies. i did that in a post the other day, mentioning they use oscar or sleephq.

reckon i'll cut out that sleephq recommendation.

Proof, if any was still needed, that Uncle Nicko (Nick Dunn of sleepHQ) is hurting.
And no wonder.
He wants payment for his sleepHQ. No doubt he wants - or will want - investors too.
And investors do due diligence - they can see - as well as we can - how he handles valid criticism, well meant-suggestions, and also, disagreements both here on and on his own (for pay) forum.

Yes, things can be learned from his earlier videos - I actually linked to them.
Yes, it's great that sleepHQ can let people share and have that share zoomed into.

I'd say we've made our points, on the present thread and on this one:
SleepHQ--Any New Constructive Suggestions for Them?
And doubtlessly, so has he.

Nope, not just lazarus.
True colors show - even on the internet.
Time to move on. For me, I mean...

Up to you.

I was just saying that my efforts to be even-handed about motives and project and giving them suggestions and well-wishing is at an end.

BUT, many of the chart-whisperers here find some aspects of SleepHQ easier to use in helping. And some newbies find it easier. So I can see completely separating views about the tool from views about the, uh, . . . well, personality fronting it.

Recommending SleepHQ is not recommending Nick. The free version doesn't even put money in his pocket.

i just meant i won't be recommending it, is all. it's not like what i say is all that influential. if i was someone who could read charts with ease, that would be different. but that's not me.

Well, apparently the truth gets under some people's skin.

I just sincerely hope that they get what's comin to them, you know the old saying, "Karma's a bitch."

I see no reason not to help the SleepHQ victims... as well as showing there's a way to save on monthly expenses :cough:

Recommend the *FREE* sleepHQ, do your part to cut down on revenues to assholes ;)

nope, not even that.

i won't actively try to dissuade folk from using it. neither will i recommend it.

there will be enough kerfuffle over it going forward without me chiming in one way or the other.

Please don't sell yourself short, sir. The influence you have had on forum tone is particularly substantial, in my opinion.

But full neutrality on that software choice and recommendation is a solid position, from where I sit. So I get it.

We all have to treat Palerider differently now that he's famous, though. I sure hope he doesn't get all full of himself, or anything.
