I love Nationwide; NOT!

Post by hobbs » Sat Nov 26, 2022 4:56 pm

Dr requests ResMed AirSense™ 11 CPAP to replace 6 year old 10 that is throwing error codes.
NW > long back order
me > that's OK, I have backup machines
NW > 4 months later. we sending a new ResMed AirSense™ 11 CPAP
me > I receive a Luna APAP. call NW
NW > ResMed AirSense™ 11 CPAP are still back ordered
me > I will wait
NW > 1 week later. we are sending new ResMed AirSense™ 11 CPAP.
me > receive ResMed AirSense™ 11 CPAP with 400 blower hours
NW > we will send new one.
me > receive ResMed AirSense™ 11 CPAP with 20 blower hours
I know all DMEs do it, but who do I file a complaint with?

ResMed AirSense™ 11 CPAP with 20 blower hours
If it's an AutoSet, just keep it and be grateful.

ONLY if it is an Autoset!
Otherwise, be a big pain in their you-know-what.

It is an auto set, and I am good at being a pain in the ass! So the consensus is being an auto set even with 20 hours on the blower I should consider it new? I know I am old, but when did the definition of new change?i

Seems like you already have your mind made up. Many would be overjoyed to have an AS11 with 20, or even 400 hours, on it.
Sometimes it is the very people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one imagines

Nobody is telling you that the definition of new has changed. Saying that the consensus is; you should consider it new, and the definition of new changed is dishonest.

Your insurance is trying to send you a CPAP model, you just received an AutoSet model. An AutoSet model (with 20 hours) is light years better than a CPAP model.

Analogy:
You are eligible for a new Ford truck
You are told you will be getting an Entry level Ford F-150
You receive a Fully loaded Ford F-350 with 5 miles on the Odometer
You don't want the F-350 because it's not new

That's becoming very obvious.

Rx was for a auto set. All past (5) machines were delivered with zero hours. I received what was prescribed, except for the 20 hours of blower time. Auto example is apples to oranges. Cars are moved around after manufacture so they do not have zero miles. I guess 20 is better than 400. Gently used, but not new.

Do what you have to do.

1. Insist on a new, unopened box machine

2. Use it for three nights

3. Now you are back where you started - you have a machine with 20 run hours.

4. Effort > Benefit

Granny speaks reason.

As a consumer, I have shown enough spite for my own face over the years that I am now on my third or fourth nose.

Not everyone, especially not a DME, can be held to the same standard that we expect from trusted entities like LSAT and CPAP.com.

Still, I wouldn't like it and would probably at least dog NW in a forum thread for a while.
