A CPAP nightstand would be a great idea. But were I to suggest to my beloved spouse that we put such a thing in our antique-furnished bedroom, I know it would be a very short conversation.

About 3 years into my CPAP experience my humidifier stopped working. It was a known manufacturer's defect for the Respironics PRS1's, but when I asked for a repair from Crapria they simply replaced the whole humidifier unit, even though it was known the defect was in the MAIN unit, not the humidifier itself, so nothing was fixed. I used the machine in "passover" mode with no heat from then on. Eventually I stopped using a humidifier at all. One less thing to clean or manage (although on a rare occasion when I have an upper respiratory infection I do use the heated humidifier on my ResMed machine for comfort). Some people really need the humidity, but I'm fine without it. I live in a climate that's not super dry or super humid, although it's drier in the house when we run the forced air furnace. I think that helps, too. If I lived in the desert, I would definitely need the humidifier.
