Help resetting day and year on ResMed machine

Post by Miss Emerita » Wed Nov 09, 2022 2:02 pm

I tried to reset the time on my machine when we had the time change, and I made the huge mistake of fiddling with the settings without my glasses on. (Note to self: don't ever, ever do this again.)

The result: I managed to reset the day one day behind and the year one year ahead. The machine thinks today is Nov 8, 2023. My efforts to correct this get me a message saying I can't reset to a date in the past.

I wouldn't care very much, except that now I'm missing most of the data on my Overview page in Oscar. The time of day is still off, but the date is the real problem right now.

Any advice?

Yikes!
A similar thing happened on my Airsense 10 autoset for her.
I was forced to clear all data in order to change the date back.
Sorry, but I could find no alternative.

So you teleported your machine into the future. And it now thinks that today is its past.

And yep, that does mean the Resmed is not going to let you go "backwards" to now.

Since you write:

I would ask the following questions:

How much data is on the card that has not already been read into Oscar?

How much data has been read into Oscar with the wrong year attached to it?

How much would you mind wiping the data on the Resmed machine as well as the SD card and starting over with a brand new set up?

If you can live with losing a day or two or three of data, you could just wipe the data from the machine and see if you can start over. You will also need to wipe the contents of the SD card. And you may also need to purge the data in Oscar that has the wrong year before you import new data. (Purging the data with the wrong year should get you back to where you can seem the missing data on the Overview page.)

Perhaps the computer gurus can come up with a better way that would allow you to change the timestamps on the data so that it has the correct year attached to it.

Nope, reset data on machine and start over.

The machine won't let you have later data that has an earlier date.

Been there and done that.
The only solution when the date is that much off is to totally erase the cpap machine data and start fresh with correct date.
You have the data stored in your computer in the OSCAR software anyway.

There is no work around with that much of an error in the date. The year thing really messed things up.
Now if it was maybe just one or two days and you had a spare machine to use you could just not use the machine for a couple of days so that there is no data at all but when the year is off...you are screwed.

Just bite the bullet and go erase all the data off the machine and then you will be able to set the clock and calendar to the correct date, time and year.

I bit the bullet, and now my machine is back from the future. If only it could talk....

Thanks, all, for your help.

….and give you the powerball number from Monday….

I thought these things were like the mobile phones- syncing up over the airwaves with date and time?

I never had to personally sat mine, so maybe not, but I was just curious

No, they don’t autoset the time. If you need to change the settings, go to the clinical menu. (And put your glasses on.)

Good to know, LSAT; thanks. All, I have a follow-up question. I succeeded in changing the day and year (and time) on the machine, but Oscar is still showing the wrong information on the Daily page, and on the Overview page its default is to a time period starting today and going into the future. (When I correct the time period, I see all my old data just fine.) Is there a fix I can use for Oscar?
