You totally need an oximeter.
Complete PFT results and PEFR trends would be a couple of things to look at to add to
the constant pressure to share personal medical info on a public forum...

Um, I have one. Doesn't everyone own a pulse ox since Covid? My numbers are fine, according to the pulmonologist.

For the record, I believe that if I had gone through as much as KM22 has lately, I'd probably be having me some daytime breathing issues myself.

That's very kind of you to say, Lazarus.
A lot of other people have had great feedback, and I intend to thank you too. I've been posting intermittently during work and travel.

TY & YW.
Hoping you find how to feel better.
Pretty good group around here, in my opinion, despite our quirks. Or maybe because of them.

Regarding elevation, I have friends who live in Grand Lake, CO. I visit them about once a year but was unable to go because of the pandemic. So this August I was really looking forward to seeing them and hiking again.
It was awful. I was short of breath all week, couldn't sleep, could barely walk around town. Didn't even go up to Adams Falls, which is such a mild trek people take their young kids with them. It happened my friends were recovering from their second bout of Covid and were feeling equally unathletic, but it was such a disappointment that I came home and told my doctor I wanted to try CPAP.
I told him one solution to the problem is just don't visit Colorado but I'm not ready to accept that solution!
Good for you! You’re to young and healthy to accept limitations without a fight! Hopefully they’ll keep learning more about long COVID and those who follow you in battling it won’t have as much of an uphill battle as you have faced.
Sounds like both you and your kitties are starting to gradually adjust to CPAP. Hopefully by your next annual trip next year to spectacular Grand Lake you’ll be breathing easy and climbing tall mountains;)

Actually,
I don't. I mean at one time I had ~$27,000 worth of oximeters. OK,
technically they weren't actually mine. But God forbid something happen to them you know the bean counters are going to be screaming "Rubicon! WTF happened to your oximeters!"
Yeah, all of a sudden they're
my oximeters...

Hmmm. They did that back in the days of the bible too.

Yup. Fortunately, Moses talked Him out of wiping them out. As did Abraham in Genesis 18.
OTOH, I guess Noah wasn't as good an influencer...

According to your post earlier in this thread, and as noted by blaine and colomom, perhaps they are not
fine.
Do a search on the forum on "physicians who have NFI what they're doing".
However, you have chosen not to provide data, and that's fine. Kinda makes you a lurker.
However2, IMO forums not only provide help for the person presenting an issue, but for dozens (hundreds?) of lurkers with similar issues who are stuck with nowhere to go.
However3, since you appear to be a lurker, I shall cease bothering you and seek someone else to bother.
Perhaps Jeff.

Hey Jeff!
Do you use Auto-Tune?

No. Singing out of tune is an important tool and God-given right for any self-respecting folk singer.
But I do have, like, six or seven cheap Chinese pulse-oxes lying around in drawers somewhere.

Look, I really don't have the energy or the brain power right now to spend half a day figuring out yet another software and how to interpret it. (e.g. squiggly graphs)
I actually work with data for a living. I'm an MS statistician, who started my career analyzing data just like this for clinicial trials. Before I put anything up on any forum I'm going to make sure I know it inside and out myself first. I don't have the bandwidth for that right now. Maybe in the next week or so I'll find time. Right now I'm focusing on just using the machine despite night sweats and face farts.
I also don't actually trust random people on the internet with very technical stuff. I've gotten a lot of bad advice over the years that way. I realize I've given a fair amount too, when I thought I knew what I was doing and really didn't.
And there's a lot to be gained by participating other than a numbers swap. I'm sorry you feel that medical data is compulsory.
My SPO2 numbers in Colorado were in the mid 90s. My doc says that's nothing to worry about. I know my asthma isn't well-controlled but I am limited in the medications I can use so we're trying to get creative. The latest inhaler didn't work for me, so at my next appt we'll discuss it and try something else.
Yes, it sucks sometimes and I wish life were different, but I also know a lot of people who are way sicker than me. I've got good insurance, and I may be single but at least my cat loves me.

Good point.
Anyway I'm usually pretty lit up by the time I get to the concert anyway, so as long as you get the Marshalls going it's all good.

I really think the only answer to improve both my asthma and apnea is to lose weight. I've tried for years, but I'm going to have to try harder.
