Wow $50 for recalled machine

Post by Hornnumb2 » Mon Oct 03, 2022 8:31 am

Wow got a email today for replacement of my recalled machine and since its no longer made they will give me $50 for it, that will go far for a new ASV machine. I dont have a subscription so I guess I am SOL.

I just got a notice about two of my three registered machines. What a sad joke this is. Now I'll have to call them to get any kind of satisfaction. I spent over $1000 changing over to resmed 15 months ago. Pathetic.

Just another surprise from respironic's bottomless bag of dirty tricks.
Resmed prices are higher; but I feel I am worth it.
You are, too.

The letter I got had two options. 1st was for the $50 but 2nd was to get back in line for a replacement by letting them know at https://www.philipspatientportal.expert ... /?ulang=en. Did you not get the 2nd option?

I just received this email today for my discontinued system 50 & 60 , These are discontinued so they say they can't send a replacement of that model. They will be replaced with a newer model or I can choose to receive $50 for each. The link in the email takes you to the page where you select the option you want.

See my post on this. Was offered $25 for my unit. Philips is trying to avoid replacing these units after 16 months of no action.

I read the system 60 email first and then received the one for the system 50 and didn't notice it was different and only $25
Can they legally send you a unit without verifying you have a script? I always expected I would have to provide that unless they went thru the DMA I used and verified it that way.

That is what your doctor is for. The last time I asked for one (thought about ordering a portable one over the Internet) my doctor had no problem pulling out a prescription pad and writing it down with a signature.

Yes, another delaying tactic by PR.

If you get a new prescription, be sure it specifies make and model of machine desired ALONG WITH the words "dispense as written - no exceptions." That is to preclude a DME offering you a cheepie.

Is it worth trying to get a script online for a asv machine or am I better off just footing the bill for a used one. Even if I went in for a new study and used insurance with a 6k deductable, I think it would come out cheaper to just buy a second wind one. Definitely won’t be a Phillips product!

I used this link https://a0fa1b452dd65abe2907-3115b881cb ... on-LMN.pdf I found at cpap.com, filled it out, and asked my doctor to sign it. I bought my Z1 with it years ago, and it was still valid when I bought my Resmed after the recall. When Philips asks (if ever), I'll forward it.
