Is it worth trying to get a script online for a asv machine or am I better off just footing the bill for a used one. Even if I went in for a new study and used insurance with a 6k deductable, I think it would come out cheaper to just buy a second wind one. Definitely won’t be a Phillips product!
forum member lsat sells resmed machines.

pm him.

last i saw (today) he was selling an airsense 11 for $729.
<sigh> one of these days, i'll learn to read before posting!

If you get a new prescription, be sure it specifies make and model of machine desired ALONG WITH the words "dispense as written - no exceptions." That is to preclude a DME offering you a cheepie.
This is a good idea if you want a specific machine that insurance is paying for. I however pay out of pocket and having a generic script like the one found on Cpap.com allows me to buy what i want on the open market.

While this can important when first obtaining a device. Anybody who thinks that having the Doctor write "dispense as written - no exceptions." on the prescription will force philips to replace an old System 1 with a machine of their choice is delusional.

I have two Series 60's. I did not receive an email about the choice for money or a replacement. I did use the link provided in this thread to choose to get replacements for both instead of the money. I was able to use the confirmation codes that I received when initially registering for the recall. There was also a box for using the recalled CPAP serial number instead of the confirmation code. Even though the link for the recall selection is posted above multiple times this is the link I used which I got from a previous post:
https://www.philipspatientportal.expert ... /?ulang=en

I also finally broke down and purchased a AirSense 10 for $599 with a free mask (I decided to try the P30i mask because I already have 2 P10 masks) from CPAP.COM with their Buy One machine Get One mask for free coupon (available by signing up for their "special offers" emails). Too bad I have already sold the AirSense 10 which arrived yesterday to a friend who left her CPAP in the airport and has a 2 month wait for an appointment to get a new prescription. Yes, I only charged her $599 and will give her the P10 for her mask when it arrives with the second AirSense 10 which I ordered yesterday. She is absolutely THRILLED about not having to wait 2 months to get a new CPAP! I am looking forwards to trying out the AirSense 10 when the second one comes in.

I specifically chose the Philips line many years ago because they run off 12v and I can run them directly from a 12v battery. I have been using my Series 60 with an inline hepa filter cartridge at home which does mess up the pressure. It looks like the Dreamstation 2 (If that is what I receive) also runs off of a 12v battery so it should be good for camping. To me the Dreamstation 2 looks like a stripped down as cheap as possible CPAP developed specifically to fill the recall as cheap as possible, but I have not seen one in person yet. Just going by the reviews I have read, specifically the small water reservoir that is a hassle to remove and insert without spilling. There are already multiple brand new in box DreamStation 2 listed on the local CraigsList for $500. I have a feeling that there will be several of the DreamStation 2 for sale on CraigsList for much cheaper once they start shipping the replacement units in bulk.

I wonder if the first round of recall recipients are going to receive DreamStation 2's and later rounds receive refurb machines that have been sent back?

Has anyone received their replacement Philips yet? Do they send a return box for your old cpap with the new cpap? How did you submit your prescription? I have a Oct 2020 prescription from my family practitioner that I use for ordering parts online which I believe should work. But I haven't received any information on how to send it to them yet.
