There are well-meaning studies that bring up the question from time to time...
Seems to me we had discussions about OSA and elderly with stuff from Lavie and SHHS. Lavie was the guy who said if you can make it to 50 you're in pretty good shape (in re: dropping dead. Or not).

I believe that one glance at me proves that wrong.
I'm trying not to drop dead, tho.
I personally will not pressure anyone over 100 to try PAP.
There may be a modicum of merit in the whole 'he can better survive an event if he's good at hypoxia' thing, but quality of life matters just as much in the very elderly as purely medical mortality numbers, as far as my personal philosophy.
My DPA says nothing extraordinary for extending my life. I've had a good run. Enjoying it for now, though. So no DNR.

I do remember the time Rooster/Roster's crazily-titled thread (which o. called him out on) motivated one guy to buy his mother-in-law a CPAP . . .

I find that it's usually the quickest and easiest way to make people angry.

Distilled water or "Sticky Topic" also seem to work.

But I hope he found the answers he was looking for.
