...and then there was a guy called Mollette, who created a series of posts called CPAP Basics (see announcements, above).

A bunch of years ago I tried to put together an all-encompassing summary

search.php?keywords=%22cpap+basics-%22& ... mit=Search

but over time a lot of links got broken and I lost interest.

I think my favorite character was SAG. Back then there was new stuff in sleep every week! We were chosen as one of 12 centers for the rollout of VPAP AdaptSV. That was an exciting time! Respironics had been working on their version of servo ventilation called HeartPAP.

I mean, ASV was just magic!! Taking CompSAS (or CSBD as we used to say) and just hammering it!!

Never did figure out that bizarre leak tho...

But whatever identity he assumes over the years, his legendary backstory includes (1) being a longtime defender of the apnea boards against the evils of would-be tyrants and misleaders in the CPAP-forum-cinematic-universe and (2) being the man known to be most helpful to and supportive of Rested Gal with her personal PAP journey and with her subsequent impressive body of work.

May all such masked men wearing capes choose to use their powers as a force for good. Tune in each week for the continuing saga and adventures of . . .

Careful everyone. It's StillAnotherGuest, who became, thanks to Rubicon's love of acronyms SAG. So that's what we called him too.

But
After a while, there was a copycat who really named himself SAG,and posted nonsense that SAG should be ignored.

Forget the cape. Does he wear tights? A nice tight pair of tights is the only way to take the true measure of a superhero.

I think that title belongs to -SWS, but I'd like to think I did contribute some, including a 3-day (and night) stay at the world famous SAG Sleep Center (well, within the Sleep World anyway) where IMO she became quite the capable polysomnographic tech after only a few hours of practice:

Old discussions among you, -SWS, ozij, and Rested Gal on this site were some of the most helpful material I have ever read, anywhere, on my PAP journey.

Somewhere on an old laptop hardrive I have a copy of a similar picture that Rested Gal posted on her site that also had you in it. I kept a copy just because it touched my heart.

Thank you, sir, for all that you did and for all that you continue to do.

Only when biking, to the best of my knowledge.

-recalling something about a pot of water with the temperature rising-

(I hope everyone is taking this with a grain of fun!))
