Trying to decide on a new machine
I am a long time user of CPAP. My Dreamstation was set aside a year ago and still no replacement. I went back to my old S9 for the last year. The S9 was new in 2011. It has been over 5 years since my Dreamstation was a new machine so I'm thinking I can get insurance to cover a new machine. I'm tired of waiting for the Dreamstation replacement and besides it might be a refurb instead of a new machine. I've always like my S9 and it still seems to work okay so I'm wondering about getting an S11 or something besides a Dreamstation. I have my annual Pulmonary Dr visit later this month and want to ask him to authorize a new machine, Just can't decide which way to go. Any words of wisdom from other users?

My Phillips DreamStation is over 5 y/o too. I stopped using it and waited for a replacement. Then I started having trouble breathing and was told to use the machine with an inline filter. Then I was put on oxygen and found out I have asthma. I asked my pulmonary doctor for a new prescription for a ResMed Airsense 11 Autopap and found a DME that had a contract with Resmed. DME said wait time was at least 2 months but they prioritized me due to having to use oxygen (from the same DME) and I got my new machine after about 3 weeks. My Blue Cross insurance paid for it minus my copay of course. And I'm STILL waiting for Phillips to send me a new machine. I'd rather them give me the money instead but that's not happening. Nothing is in fact. My asthma is under control with meds and I'm off the oxygen now thank goodness. No idea if the Phillips machine caused the asthma but it may have. I won't go back to a Phillips machine.

@OP - I believe the consensus opinion here, among both experts and regular users, is that ResMed machines are superior. AS10AutoSet and AS11AutoSet are very similar. Whichever you can get fastest is the best way to go. Maybe check around online and see why can get it to you asap, then ask your insurance for reimbursement. I believe several users have been successful with that strategy.

Re: Trying to decide on a new machine
One thing to consider when getting a ResMed Air10.
How important is transmission of your data to you?
With Air10 devices, many are now being sold as "Card-to-Cloud", this is ResMed's confusing terminology for; it doesn't have a cellular modem and can't transmit your data to ResMed or Medical team. If automatic connectivity is important to you avoid the Card-to-Cloud marketed devices. A lot of Air10s are Cloud-to-Card because of supply chain problems.

Re: Trying to decide on a new machine
The (other) major difference between the AS10 and AS11 is that there are two types of AS10's a "regular" and a "for her". The "for her" is grey and a has some darker grey flowers on it but it has both of Resmed's auto adjusting algorithms, the regular one and the one they called "for her"
The AS11 has both algorithms in one black box.
If you don't mind the way the machine looks,https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... r-humidair check for the availability of an "AS10 For Her"
A few weeks ago someone mentioned he was offered the "For Her" because it was more available.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.
