It's definitely sloppy programming in my view. I asked the question on the CPAP Reviews Facebook forum and got this response from Nicko...
Hey mate, i don’t think it’s possible to be ‘fixed’. Personally i feel time is irrelevant for analysis and if required you can always share a zoomed in link to any part of any chart you require 👍 The Best Way To Share Your CPAP Therapy Results - Zoom In! #shorts

The best way to share your CPAP therapy results... OSCAR.

It's ridiculous that he thinks that. it's actually quite simple, store the time on import, disregard the time of the viewer, mate.

prior to daylight savings I had to make adjustments on the chart to have them meet up with reality of when I went to bed. This was VERY easy to do and most days didn’t matter much imo especially when settings and general look of the data was all that mattered. Some days you needed to dig in and I reset the time on my charts.

So let’s see what happens. This was night before last. I am in eastern time and here is the chart. I went to bed around 11.

https://sleephq.com/public/bd3c3ec0-41a ... b99d9ee4f4

I just added 3600 seconds (the usual one hour time shift. It says I went to bed around midnight.

https://sleephq.com/public/87371b65-592 ... 48c46b507d

It’s not a big deal to change it.

This is an hour earlier than reality.

https://sleephq.com/public/f4f0b3ce-c1a ... 847ba5864f

If anyone ever wanted a quick adjustment it’s not hard to do. But I agree it would help if if showed time zone somewhere maybe even on the settings page.

hth

Edit: well ya learn something new every day. It’s showing whatever the current time setting is for my charts and not what I posted. But you CAN change it. Also it takes a few minutes for the change to “stick”.

I don't know what you think {?} you're doing, or what you're seeing on your end, but it's not necessarily what other people are seeing from your beloved software mess, because this is what's showing up, time wise, in Central Standard Time:

To be clear- don’t be confused by “more user friendly to me in my opinion “ with “beloved “. I can see how you could make that mistake though.

My point was that in the user end I could set the numbers to someone else’s time zone for them to look at and comment on.

It was not until I attempted to do so that I found that even if I created a link for say Pacific time, once I changed it back to eastern time the person looking at pacific time would be seeing eastern time. Unless they had it somewhere in an open window and didn’t refresh.

Just remember that there are a lot of newbies unable or challenged to post their data with your “beloved” software. A bit of compassion, understanding and general flexibility goes a long way.

You should try it.

Oscar isn't "beloved", it's just *effective*, and the fact that I have my name in the credits doesn't mean I love it, but it works, and it's not out to get money out of anybody.

What you keep stumping for? just wait.

Just you wait… if phillip roberts and wizenose says it’s true it must be true! lol.

Seriously- if Nicko decides to monetize I don’t GAS. It’s his right to do so the same as it’s yours to do so if you wish. I don’t fault someone for making money off of their intellectual property.

You just sound jealous.

Actually, you're wrong about that, like you are with so many of your annoying assumptions.

I think it's great that there's something out there for people that only have a phone or a tablet, (as long as they can figure out how to get the data into the system).

But it's not a mature product, it's got more bugs than just the time zone issue, and it's certainly not for everyone.

SleepHQ have pushed a fix for the timezone problem, and it seems to be working OK.

As a test, please have a look at my chart from last night and let me know if it looks OK from your location. Start time: 23:08 End time: 06:59 If you're seeing these times, then the fix is working.

If you see the same times and you're in a different timezone then the fix works.

Without knowing your time zone, it can't be verified.

The timezone is shown right there at the top of the chart.

Fixed.

Though, since it is now fixed - and checked in other time zones, I would not force sharing of where the data was recorded, nor the timezone -- we no longer need it. A question of privacy.

I'll give it a week or so, and if the problem doesn't return, I'll change the subject of this thread.

Thank you, Respirator99.

looks good. I also see time zone at top.

How was this fixed? do users need to change something?

Respirator says he's in Australia. I'm in Buffalo, NY. So I'm pretty sure we're in different time zones. When I look at the data, this is what I see:

So it looks like SleepHQ has fixed this annoying bug.
