Is Your CPAP Store Canada legit?

Post by Coljoy » Wed Aug 10, 2022 1:15 pm

Ive read the forum rules but still…I hope I’m not breaking rules by asking my question. I’ve come across all sorts of problems finding reliable CPAP items suppliers in Canada and the USA. I have an Airsense 11 APAP machine and simply finding proper supplies anywhere is difficult. In Canada…GOOD LUCK trying. The vast majority of suppliers based in USA that ship to Canada say they can’t ship Resmed because of the contracts they sign so people such as I are ‘stuck’.

Last night, I came across a website regarding Your CPAP Store Canada. When I was researching whether it was legit, I noticed google reviews associated it with a business called Mobility 1st LTD. When I looked that place up it had the usual obscene pricing as per usual for Canada. Yet on the Your CPAP Store Canada the prices are significantly lower. I just want to know if anyone has dealt with this odd outfit and whether they are linked and legit.

Just looking at the odd site now (never heard of them before), but one thing struck me - they're selling SoClean, an ozone product known to be a scam and a ripoff, not to mention dangerous to you.

They also appear (tho' don't say so) to possibly be a discount place (maybe 2nd hand?) or ??? because e.g. 90% of their masks are Fisher Paykel... what happened to all the other brands?

Disgraceful!

You can use ANY cpap store ... U.S or Canada to buy supplies, just not a machine. I shop in both counties, wherever I get the best deal at the time. U.S. companies will sell you ANY cpap supplies, but are not permitted to sell you a machine. As a matter of fact, I just needed to get filters for my Resmed 10 and got the best deal and free shipping from the U.S.

Don't listen to rumors.... check it out for yourself.

Cheers
Nan

You can't get Resmed machines directly from the U.S., but can get others with a script, and can get the Resmeds from Canadian dealers in any case.

Yes, but they can't/won't ship any ResMed or Respironics product to addresses outside the USA.

The company themselves told me this. I even phoned in to confirm this info. I was asking in regards to Resmed filters, masks, tubing, water basin and connector part.

Extremely difficult to find Airsense 11 parts in Canada and if you do, other than the filters, the prices are obscene. I only found two Canadian suppliers who had, somewhat, competitive pricing with USA suppliers. And one of those suppliers was the, Your CPAP Store Canada.

They were one of the businesses that said they don’t sell Resmed to Canadian customers because of the contracts that they sign.

They told you the truth. ResMed and Respironics both prohibit sellers from shipping outside their country of domicile if they want to keep their special wholesale price contracts with the manufacturer. To get the best deal (or maybe any deal) the suppliers have to sign a contract that they won't ship outside their country. Canada can't ship to USA or anywhere other than Canada. USA can't ship anywhere other than USA. Australia can't ship outside Australia. England can't ship outside England....and so on.
ResMed has been that way for years and years....Respironics just started doing this in the past 5 or so years I think it was.

I am based in BC, I use Amazon.ca, Sleepeh, and CPapoutlet.ca. Bringing in a machine purchased from states to Canada has been easy overall, since there is tariff exemption for personal use.

Now for AS 11 parts, they will be rare and overpriced compared to their AS10 counterparts because the demand for them isnt there yet. I have no appetite for AS11 exactly because I will be price gouged for the parts.

I don't know if you have solved your issue yet, but in case you haven't. I took a look at their website. It looks like it is a walk in store that has decided to offer products online. I haven't dealt with them. They are in London Ontario. If you use Google maps, you should be able to see their store. It's not a PO box which is generally good.

Their mask prices are about $10 less than the place I use. But the place I use will price match. The place I use is https://www.cpapmachines.ca. They are in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Products are fine, service reliable. Sometimes delivery has been next day, but I am not far from their location.

Neither site shows parts for the 11. I assume that the suppliers that are affiliated with the ADP (program) get first dibs on products since they will have the highest machine sales in the province.

BTW what parts do you need. Masks, of course, are not machine dependent. If you need filters, humidifier or hose right away, you might have to go to your machine provider and pay their extortion prices.

Luckily, almost no one needs to replace parts as often as recommended.
With care, most parts can last way longer than the sellers would like you to believe.
The greatest source of wear and tear is excessive cleaning/handling.
(Now you know why they want you to do that.)

Exactly. The bummer is that I have an Airsense 11 which yay me. On the other hand, be careful what you wish for because there are basically no supplies for it in Canada and if you find them expect to get charged double sometimes triple the price…depending on the parts.
