there doesn’t seem to be much interest in losing weight,
And this surprises you?
All you gotta do make a trip through WalMart on any given day and observe the number of people who could stand to lose some pounds for any reason out there...not just OSA related.
Most people don't want to do the needed work to lose excess weight.
And please...don't go giving me the lecture about "I can't lose weight because of either metabolic issues or medication issues or or physical issues or whatever excuse".....I understand that for some people it isn't always a simple issue. My comment was NOT meant for those people.
But I don't buy it when someone says "I have OSA and OSA made me get fat"....yep, it might have contributed but a person still has the option of trying to lose IF THEY WANT TO LOSE unwanted pounds.
Hell...I lost 25 pounds and due to back issues and the fact that I couldn't even walk to the bathroom sometimes and I do have OSA ...I still lost weight and ate whatever I wanted but just less quantity.
People today want immediate fixes for everything and they just don't want to do the work that might be needed because they don't want to take the time and effort. They want a pill to fix it or they want surgery to fix it and they don't have to do any work.
Fine...take the pill or have the surgery...that is an option available if someone really wants to do something about their weight.
There are multiple options out there but some people just simply don't care about their weight enough to do anything about it.
Even if this new and very expensive pill for weight loss was available for free....people wouldn't take it and come up with any number of excuses.
People just don't care enough about their weight or what the excess weight can do to their body.
It is what it is. Doesn't surprise me at all that people continue to blame anything and everything for their weight problems.
They either want to do something about it or not. Pretty simple. There is a reason that about a third of the US population is in the obese category and we can't blame it all on OSA. Plus just because we might have OSA doesn't mean we can't lose significant weight if we try. Just look at babydino or janknitz or hell even Madalot. Madalot lost a LOT of weight and she can't exercise at all. She's got a neuromuscular condition that makes her wheelchair bound.
Again folks...I do understand that some people have very specific and special health issues that present extra challenges to weight loss and my comments aren't meant for those people. I know I have a hard line about it but I do also realize that there are exceptions to everything so don't come here blasting me for being a hard ass about it.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
