After thinking about it the Resmed filter is extremely porous and prob doesn't filter much of anything.
So I'm thinking you could use a clean filter as a template to cut the shape out of an N95 mask to see how that works for you before you leave.

Nothing beats burning up a motor due to excessive resistance in a filter.

@32517 Posts: and you never have any advise.
Just off-topic derail comments about comments.
Which btw is the definition of a troll.

Enough.

What is the topic of this thread? If you can't remember please go back and re-read the first post.

Cease and desist the personal attacks please.

If it doesn't stop...I will remove all such attacks.

I’ve been on and off this board over the last year or two. There are certainly some helpful people and resources here. At the same time, I do remember CPAPtalk as having more than the usual negativity and trolls. People with too much time on their hands and nothing better to do with their life than stink the place up with bad vibes. Sad, really.

I’m sure they’ve left a long paper trail, and I advocate a house cleaning based on the administrator team’s impressions of their social credit score. We agreed to be positive and constructive. Subtle trolling should be nipped in the bud with the ban hammer. Go for it.

just out of curiosity, which are you calling a troll?

or is it both?

i'm asking a serious question.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Please take the troll discussions private.
There is a reason I pointed people to "what was the original topic"....which is a gentle reminder to stop whatever they were doing or where they were going and get back on topic.

I was trying to get the personal attacks and name calling stopped.
We all probably have our own personal opinions of trolling behavior and they very well could come with a YMMV sticker and what I think might be trolling behavior might not seem that way to someone else.

At any rate when personal attacks and name calling start then the threads go downhill and sideways and original discussion gets totally lost and it annoys me to no end when I see it.

And yes....I suppose I could use the ban button but then the banned person can just sign up with a new account and start fresh. This way I already know who I might need to keep an eye on instead of wondering about a new account.

When I got my machine a couple of months ago the DME said that I probably should NOT use it when I get Covid. (I have not had it yet, as far as I know.)

Realistically everyone is going to get it eventually, so I figure that it isn’t worth worrying about, beyond getting the vaccine and possibly losing weight, if necessary. Just my 2 cents.

cpap has helped a lot of people recover from covid.

If it were me I'd be looking for another DME or at least double checking their advise.

My DME doesn’t understand my only concern at this point, my body is physically incapable of falling asleep while using the CPAP machine since I can’t stand anything touching me while I try to fall asleep.

I am not your typical sleep apnea patient- I am 43, 5’8” 157 lbs and an excellent runner. I am only attempting to do this for my wife, due to my snoring.
