Resmed F20 straps material

Post by MikeKing77 » Sat Jul 16, 2022 3:05 pm

I have been using the ResMed F20 mask for several years. At some point they changed the straps into a softer material. I absolutely hate the straps they use now. You have to constantly untangled them to put on the mask. The worse part is the mask breaks the seal more often when you sleep on your side. This doesn't matter what adjustments you make in the tightness. The previous straps used a more rigid material. I never had an issue with the seal on those. They kept the mask in position all night. Some nights if you move in the wrong position the strap will break away from the magnet. There were two reasons for the change. The first reason must have been cost. The softer material is cheaper to buy so ResMed has a higher profit. The second reason is customers complain about the rigid material. Look, people are always going to complain about irritation and pain but what is more important, to have a seal all night so your sleep isn't interrupted or comfort. I need a full face mask. This is the only mask that keeps me breathing through my nose and not my mouth. Any suggestions. Thanks.

It's beyond frustrating when a manufacturer changes a favored product and it doesn't work as well.

Have you looked at some of the lower-profile FFMs like the ResMed F30 or F30i?
