I'm using the white one (technician this morning said it was a Dreamstation 1).

I was not aware that you could simply buy a used CPAP, we have Craigslist in Canada but sale of recalled items are prohibited. We also have something called Kijiji but I looked on there and the nearest ones are in Red Deer which is almost two hours away by car, and I don't drive.

What would you guys do right now if you were in my position?
I've bought and sold a few machines on kijiji and FaceBook marketplace.

There's a few machines available close to calgary listed.

https://www.kijiji.ca/b-calgary/cpap/k0 ... adius=50.0

When buying used:
  • Bring your own mask and hose to try
  • Run it
  • Ensure it's from a smoke free home
  • Smell it both running and not running
  • Check the run hours(not the usage hours) sellers often don't know the difference or how to check
  • Ask them how old it is and why they're selling it (estimate about 3000 hours per year)
  • Check the model type, sellers often don't know the model
  • Search for CPAP, ResMed AirSense, AirCurve, people often list them under odd names but are likely to have
  • Preferred machines are ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet, AirCurve 10 VAuto be careful of specialized or limited machines
  • Know how to get into clinician mode before you get there.

If you had an SD card in the old DS1 you might be able to get the pressure it was set at along with some of the other settings it had with the OSCAR software. Your computer will need to have the ability to read an SD card either through a built in reader slot or an external USB card reader.

For humidifier settings in the clinician menu select “comfort”, then the first two squares on the top row with wavy lines are the humidification settings. First square sets adaptive, or fixed humidification, the second square selects the level of humidification (0 – 5). If your humidifier still won’t work, then I recommend disconnecting the humidifier from the CPAP using the grey button on the lower right side of the Dreamstation. Check that there is no debris, or anything obstructing the connector on the top right-hand side of the humidifier and CPAP, then reconnect and make sure it clicks. IMPORTANT: Please make sure you remove the water from the humidifier before attempting this.

No, the issue is that those options don't appear at all. There aren't any humidifier settings visible on the clinician menu. Where those settings normally would be, there are just blank spaces.

Is the humidifier connected all the way? Maybe the machine isn’t reading it because it’s not fully connected. Did the seller say it worked? Did you test it with seller? Worse case, case you use the machine for now without humidification? Wish I could help more, but I have a Resmed.
Daily user of CPAP since 2009.
Use very low humidity or pass through.
Slightly heated hose. Hose cozy.
Masks: Alternate between N30i, Aloha, Tap Pap, & occasional BleepSleep.

What is the exact model number of the machine?

Do you have the clinical/provider manual for the machine (once you figure out which model exactly)?
If not, go here and request it.

That is strange that there are no humidification settings at all. Even if I remove the humidifier from my base unit, the settings still appear in the menu. I have a Dreamstation Auto CPAP (DSX500H11C), maybe you have a different model? There should be a manufacturers tag under the CPAP that states the model and serial number.

It says

DreamStation AutoCPAPHumHT CAN
REF no. CAX500T12
SN J295902911B71
Made in USA 2020-10-05 REV00

Humidifier:

DreamStation Hum Core Pack EU
Ref EUXHCP
SN H29581288136D

I don't see any debris in the connectors. I can still use it without the humidifier, but I'd prefer to have it.

I am miffed, humidification settings should be showing up in your menus. When you press the power button and start therapy on the LCD to the right of the pressure you should see 3 wavy lines and a number from 0 to 5, the number indicates your humidification level with 0 being off. If that shows up in your display, then you can highlight it with your front dial and select a number for humidification. Here is a link to a Philips video explaining how to set your humidity on the Dreamstation:

Yep, I saw this. The icons simply are not there. I cannot even adjust the humidity while the blower is on. There is no humidity level icon.

He sold it because he was moving overseas and didn't need it anymore. Wouldn't I just be able to get it checked by my technicians at the respiratory place?

While the blower is blowing or just plugged in?

While it is blowing

Try accessing the setup menu when the machine is just plugged in and NOT blowing.
I don't think that you can get to where you need to go while the machine is actually blowing air.

No, I did that already. The humidifier settings do not show up in the clinician menu. You can't even access the menus while the machine is blowing.
