yeah I actually thought I did make sure I got that message but I must've messed it up anyway. I put in a new card and tested it and it did work but of course then I have to put it back in again so there's no way to know if I did it right - fingers crossed. seems like it should not be so easy to screw it up!

Trust me....it can happen to any of us and I have done it more than once (actually probably several times) because eventually this therapy/treatment/routine becomes old hat and we sort of take it for granted and don't pay close attention sometimes.
I have been on cpap over 13 years now and have made all sorts of common boo boos and some uncommon ones as well.
When I did it earlier this year I actually didn't catch it for 2 full weeks because I no longer download daily.
Of course Murphy's Law says if you are going to do it ...you won't realize it until you wanted to check something from last night and no data will be there. That's what happened to me. I had taken a new kind of sleeping pill to see if it helped reduce my arousals which were causing some false positive flagging....bummer no flow rate data to look at.

Everything you have gone through and will go through has all been done before by someone and sometimes more than once.
I have forgotten to fill the water chamber and have it run dry during the night. I have screwed up the SD insertion several times over the years.

I have been battling sleep maintenance insomnia for several years now. In my situation I know why but it still isn't an easy fix. I see a lot of my reports in your reports.

You and I have a lot more in common than you might think.  I also understand full well how stress itself affects sleep and why I keep telling you to chill out and try not to worry because at this point in therapy what you need most of all is to relax and go with the flow. The adjustment process just takes time and that's why most sleep doctors won't even want to see a new cpap patient until 3 months after beginning therapy unless there are some urgent problems and at this point your problems are rather common and certainly not urgent. They may not feel common to you but what you are experiencing is actually common and seen often and things will get better with time and experience.

Thanks for reminding me that I need to fill the water chamber !

Today it worked here is the graph, I hope

https://imgur.com/a/7GXl7hf

AHI 2.95 about half centrals half OAs, seems like leaks around some of the events.

The sleep docs office is literally harassing me to come in for a data download check for compliance, they have messaged me and sent me big packets of info in the mail to fill out on getting a DME and telling them who it is. I haven't even had the machine 2 weeks and they have called twice to set up the appt for data check. I have told 2 different people in 2 different messages that I bought the machine myself because the wait was months through DME and the insurance also wants you to rent the machine first? I don't even know who this data download appt is with it doesn't seem like a doctor because they want to schedule for ilke the next day. After I got the dx but before I knew anythig, they told me they weren't even scheduling "after sleep study" appts and to just message the doctor with questions. They do not seem to know what they are doing, but I assume if I own my machine, no one needs to spy on me for compliance, but I do need a doc to look at my data. I don't think this is the same thing in terms of the appt because I don't think the doc would have that kind of availability - usually it is months out to get an appt.

The whole thing is bizarre. Or maybe it's normal.

Correct....but....if you ever want your insurance to pay for masks you might have to prove to them you are using the machine. Depends on insurance....call your insurance directly (don't rely on what a DME or doctor's office people might say) and ask the insurance directly what they want or need.

Compliance download is usually just hours used within a certain time period (and again your insurance may or may not have specific requirements)...no real data that might be useful to evaluate overall therapy.
Most often the insurance companies will require usage along the same lines of what Medicare requires which is NOT something that can be determined within the first 2 weeks of therapy anyway.
Medicare requires 30 nights of consecutive data where the cpap user is getting 4 or more hours of use in 70% of those 30 nights and they have 90 days to meet that requirement. Most DMEs don't know the specifics of each and every insurance plan out there as to what is required from said insurance company to pay for either the mask or the machine.

That's your job.

You might at some point in the future decide you want a back up machine and this is where having insurance might come in handy. Something to think about but you don't have to act on it right now. If that should ever happen though your current self bought machine could become your back up machine while you jump through the hoops to get insurance to buy you a machine.

Your AHI last night....it's slowly coming down and both OAs and centrals are slowly reducing.
How was the sleep quality last night? How do you feel today? This information is just (if not more) critical than the numbers and graphs.

Now I don't know what your insurance requires but the reason I say that YOU are the one to call them is because I have seen reports from people here who were told by their DMEs/doctors that there was so and so requirements from their insurance company and they called and found out the insurance company didn't care and there were zero requirements.

We never trust anyone but our own ears...especially DMEs and unfortunately sometimes even the doctors offices.
It's not so much the doctor anyway...they usually know absolutely nothing about any insurance stuff...that's what the girls in the office handle.

But shouldn’t they be able to see the Resmed 11 data remotely, I thought that was the point of it ? It doesn’t even come with an sd card and wouldn’t even know to get one if you guys had not told me.

I feel like when I call insurance I get the runaround mostly and I did try to get prior authorization so I could be reimbursed and they made me submit docs but then said no, because you can’t buy it you have to rent it for us to reimburse. Which they could’ve just told me in the first place.I think their whole goal is to reimburse as little as they can get away with unless you have someone to advocate. But yeah it makes sense to get reimbursed for future expenses like masks and replacement stuff although I can also use HSA. I feel like DME companies are just a huge hassle I tried calling several and they either didn’t answer the phone at all or had you on hold forever or didn’t seem to want to help much, but I’m not a customer yet either. It just seemed like lots of time wasted vs getting the machine the next day online.

I usually feel ok when I first wake up but then kind of goes downhill as the day goes on I guess. I feel ok today. I always wake up at 3 am and have to force myself to go back to sleep so it is always sketchy sleep after that.

Only if it gets set up (usually by the DME) can they access the data using the cloud.
I am not sure what is needed for anyone to access your cloud data when they weren't involved with the machine getting.
I know it's tied to serial number of the machine but beyond that I don't know what all is involved with the set up.

MyAir is the patient cloud interface and DMEs and doctors have something else called AirView I think.

Yeah in one of the messages they asked for my machine serial number which I gave them. But they still kept asking for my DME after that so I don’t think they talk to each other. In the profile there is a place to add your healthcare provider info and a toggle switch to share data with them. Actually the toggle was on the machine itself I think. The profile was just on Oscar.

I have never ever set up any of my machines to have the MyAir stuff and since all my machines have been self bought there never was any need for anyone to see the data.
I have always had a Medicare Advantage plan and I did use them for masks and other supplies and never had a problem.
Really all that is needed is a doctor (family PCP works just fine) saying that I continue to use the cpap and get good results.
No one has seen my data since August 2009 when I saw my sleep doctor for the required "face to face" within 90 days of starting therapy.
So no one seems to care about my data and I still get any supplies if I want them.

So I am zero help in setting up things so that someone else can see your data.
Patients use MyAir...doctors and DMEs use the AirView thing and if you okay MyAir data sharing it may not be what the DME/doctor uses so in that case they couldn't see it if they don't use MyAir. My understanding is that DMEs and doctors can use MyAir if they want to...but I could be wrong.

Personally I don't see the reason why the big push for compliance data at this stage of the game anyway.
I think I would ask them "why"...I love to yank their chains and catch them in lies and then call them out on it.
Getting ready to do this very thing with my insurance and DME who don't want to supply my Bleep mask for bogus reasons...but will wait until the new Eclipse comes out. Make the battle really worthwhile.
Will be extra work for me but I am gearing up for it this time. My insurance and my supplier need to work for me and I am going to force the issue.

Good luck!
What exactly are the bleep and eclipse masks you use and are they hard to get used to? I did look up a bit online about them.

The Eclipse is an upcoming new improved version of the Bleep.
Go here and read up and watch some videos about the original Bleep and the Eclipse.
https://bleepsleep.com/

The most aggravating part of using the Bleep is probably attaching the plastic ports (explained in the videos) and some people had a lot of problem during that process...the Eclipse uses little magnets to attach the part that gets stuck on the nose to the frame/hose part of the mask. Sooooooo much easier.

Insurance does cover it but getting a person's DME to actually order it for you is sometimes difficult. My own DME wouldn't do it. I got all sorts of lies as to why they wouldn't so I just quit using them for anything. I have decided to push things once the Eclipse becomes available. My insurance will pay for it just like they will pay for the P10 or any other nasal mask.
I just have to do some extra work getting the DME to officially refuse to get the mask for me...then I find another supplier that will furnish it and my insurance will issue a special exemption allowing me to use a supplier that is out of network.
There are online sources that will file insurance AND supply the Bleep but they are out of network for my insurance.
So I will either force my local DME to get on board or my insurance will let me use an out of network supplier and pay.
I have already talked to them about it.

One of the lies my DME told me was that insurance won't pay which is a bold face like. The Bleep (and the Eclipse) uses the same HCPCS billing codes as any other nasal mask. Insurance pays by billing codes...not brand or model name.

I wanted to try the bleep things but it looked too complicated to connect the hose while that it was already in your nose.

I ordered the f30i assembly kit by accident instead of full mask by accident so I had to get the head gear separately and it is huge. Does it come smaller if you order small frame ? It only comes in one size separately but I am used to the ‘for her’ head geSr and it’s so much smaller.

Need help - worse results AHI 6.9 and CA 5.2 and CSR (which I have never had) this morning with the F30i mask. It did seem to blow a lot of air out of the front but seemed sealed and was actually pretty comfortable? is this all from the mask. Is is supposed to be blowing out that much air, i could feel it on my arm and husband complained. I really wanted to use this mask so I don't know if I should just bail and go back to full F20 which is more confining.

any input appreciated, thanks!

speaking of watchpat, here's a meta analysis from April 2022 saying

"The results of this meta-analysis suggest clinically significant discordance between WatchPAT and PSG measurements of AHI, significant sleep apnea severity misclassification by PAT studies, and poor diagnostic test performance."
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34879903/

and the ONE journal article I found that showed it could detect centrals had 84 subjects and was funded by the company that makes it.

So I really don't know.

Switched back to the F20 from F30i and the AHI 5.28 with CA 4.29. I did like the F30i better but it was just blowing too much air and I don't know if it is just how it works or if there's something wrong with it so I ordered a larger cushion. No one else seems to have this experience?
