sleeping on the side or the back

Post by goerge » Fri Jun 03, 2022 2:03 am

Hi first I wanted to know if you are sleeping on your back or side, I noticed that if I fall asleep sleeping on the side I get a tube that spins inside itself, and the mask goes down a bit (does not fall but just moves a bit) so I wanted to know in what position you sleep and if there is. Special reason.

And does the fact that the pipe rotates mean that the air comes out less strongly or does it not affect the pressure of the air?

What are you talking about - spinning (rotating) tube (hose)? Never heard of that one!

When I did my 2 sleep studies , 11 and 4 years ago, both studies noted that I was a supine and side sleeper. In the supine position is where I had almost all my events and hardly no events when I slept on my side. However, like you I move around while asleep. This is the main reason I cannot successfully use a full face mask without creating a significant amount of leak.

The mask’s attachment to the tube almost always features a swivel at the connector. This is to allow the twisting movement of the mask to be independent of the tube. It does not affect the flow of air to the mask and if it does the machine compensates for it.

Hope this answers your question.

I sleep on my left side.... hmmm, think I know what your sharing. Years ago, I was a rough sleeper, toss/turn alot, tube would twist around, wrapping up hose, pull mask down. One time, hose wrapped around my neck  Can't remember how I resolved, sorry. But, believe as therapy improved, I became more relaxed, didn't move as much. Wish you well.

I'm a natural side sleeper. I get on my left side and I'm there all night. I've been an inactive sleeper all my life. I don't toss and turn.
