Large and XL Masks?

Post by cabanalane » Tue May 24, 2022 6:34 pm

Been doing well with my CPAP machine for the last 6 months. I started with the Resmed F20. I sort of wish there was a size XL. The largest size is a L (Large). I have since since switch to F30i. The largest size mask is M (Medium).

Why don't they make the mask (cushion) bigger? I can't be the only big guy with sleep apnea.

Shaq has sleep apnea and is a successful CPAP user.

Are you sure your mask is fitted and adjusted properly? Find your mask on youtube and watch three or four videos carefully.

I did have Shaq in mind and I'm no way as tall or big as him.

If we look at Shaq's video with Harvard (when he was playing for Boston), he chose the one that goes over his nose only, not the full face one like F20 or F30i, for mouth breathers. The F30i for example, the inside of the cushion barely cover over my lips. Why Resmed stop at size M? Again, I can live with it, make it work, get good numbers. Just wondering if anyone else wish they can have a "bigger" mask.

BTW, Shaq's latest video show him moving toward (to promote) another devise from a dentist, like a tongue suppressor. Not interested in that, and don't want to go off-topic.

I'm 6'2, 240 lbs, I wear Resmed airfit20 size medium.

You may wanna look into older model masks such as Mirage Quattro. Although Quattro/Airfit20 both M, side by side Quattro is a larger mask, covers more face surface area.
