I know Stuart does recommend a hose management system of some sort.

But it isn't always necessary.....I have never used any hose management system with any mask.....not in 13 years.
But then I have never used (beyond just trying) a mask with hose attaching at the top of my head either.

Goes to show you that the YMMV sticker is indeed a big sticker.
Thanks, Pugsy. I gotta say your ongoing swearing by the Bleep is pretty strong inspiration!

I am a restless side/stomach sleeper. lots of tossing and turning. I use a hose management system (actually the same one that Stuart uses/recommends) which routes the hose up to the head of the bed and moves it from side to side as I turn over. It works VERY well!. And the magnetic connection of the Eclipse Halo has never failed, throughout all my movement. The magnets are quite strong, do not pull off, you need to SLIDE to remove. In all fairness, I DO have to admit that the short hose has come loose from the connector (the piece actually staying in my heated hose  ) about 3 times in all the years I have been using the Bleep, twice with the DreamPorts, once with the Eclipse. I did have to turn on the lights to slide it back onto the connector.
Great information, thanks so much!

My husband will tell you that from day one back in May 2009 and using the nasal pillow masks available at the time that I always would say "man, I need to figure out some way to tape these things to my nose so I can ditch the headgear".
I have always just hated any sort of headgear. I used them but I hated them.

Then I heard about the Bleep...Stuart's idea...but at that time just an idea and I thought to myself "someone is finally trying what I have always wanted to try"....so I waited nearly 2 years while the Bleep was being fine tuned so that I could finally try to get my hands on one to try. I knew it would work for me the first time I ever saw the idea...hard part was the waiting.

Was it perfect? No, but then no mask is ever totally "perfect" for anyone. We have to pick through our own personal preferences, wants and needs and choose the mask that checks most of the boxes in terms of our own wants and needs.
The attachment process wasn't all that difficult for me but it did take a bit of time to master.
In all honesty it probably was the cause of a lot of people simply giving up on the Bleep.

Stuart started working on the Eclipse idea probably not all that long after the release of the first edition of the Bleep.
It was just an idea at first....something to eliminate the most problematic area of the original Bleep....that attachment process.

So...I just tell people to take a hard look at exactly what their own personal preferences, wants and needs are (with any mask they are currently using or thinking about using) and then decide what they might want to try.

For me it was an easy decision....Stuart has done what I always wanted to do but never did.
I hate the headgear part of any mask. It always seems to annoy me and leave dents on my cheeks...even using padacheek strap pads...that made the bags under my eyes simply worse. How we look and feel is a big part of our wants and needs and preferences. I don't believe that a person should just suck it up and accept something they don't like if there is something out there that eliminates a problem we might have with any mask.

I think that curiosity about any mask is a good enough reason to try any mask if that mask is interesting to a person.
I have tried probably over 40 different masks over the years simply because they looked interesting.
I always learned something with each experiment about myself and my own wants and needs.
Sometimes all I learned was how bad I hated something but I always learned something.
I learned that eliminating dents and eye bags was pretty darn important to me....
Now someone else might not care or they might not get dents or eye bags as easily I got them.
Maybe they like the security of the headgear. That's okay too.

Everyone has a choice...accept things as they are or continue to try to maybe improve on things.

Good point: I don't want to accept things as they are, especially since I have come to hate my CPAP gear. I suppose I really need to work on accepting the idea that I need to use something that accomplishes what a CPAP does, but if I have to do that, then I'm determined to keep trying to make the experience better for myself. I called my DME to see if they handle the Bleep, but she said she'd never even heard of it. I'll wait until this new Eclipse version comes out and order one online. It sounds like it's definitely worth a try. Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts!

Dumb question:
How do you apply halos?

I realized last night, from the time I peel dreamports off wax paper until they're in place on nose, I handle them exclusively by plastic port…

Also, the may 17th email states that "we will begin pre-sales on may 24th", but the eclipse web page still only shows "pre-order for MD/DME/RTs."

I understand delays happen, just checking if I missed something?

Peel them off with your fingertips and fingernails and hold by the edges. You will be touching the sticky part a little bit but it won't hurt anything.

I haven't even checked with what pre-order status entails. I had forgotten about it. Let me check on that and get back with you.

About the pre order thing originally slated for the 24th for us users.
IT issues came up and no one notified Stuart about it until way late.

They are working on it now and hopefully by the first of next week BUT it has been my experience that nothing seems to fall on schedule when it comes to IT work. I know we have had similar problems with IT work on the forum here. Fixing problems seems to always take longer than planned.

To say what we often say here...."I wouldn't be holding my breath until......"

About the application of the halos. I am going to assume that there isn't anything new from what I have been doing.

The halo adhesive is probably going to have to be trimmed a little bit where the adhesive overlaps between the two nostril openings. Without trimming a little bit the second halo to be attached will likely overlap onto the metal ring just a little and that will affect the magnetic holding properties. So one halo will need to be trimmed just a little. I don't think the halos will come pre cut but won't know for sure until we see what we get.

And yes....we need to be touching the sticky part of the adhesive strips but it doesn't really impact anything. At least not for me. I haven't had any problem with the adhesive itself coming loose where I touched it. I just barely touch the edges of the sticky part.

Thanks Ozij. Yep that's the trimming that will need to be done.
I haven't watched the video yet...I don't watch many videos. I guess I should but my internet just plain sucks and I usually get pissed off before anything full loads. Zero patience on my end.

Where are you located now?
How are you getting your Bleeps?

You are going to love the Eclipse. I can put the adhesive halo part on it about 2 seconds in the bathroom and stick the frame on in the dark. Most people won't need to do this but I have special circumstances....I have to put the almost blind one eyed pug in bed first before I go to bed. I have to carry her to bed. She's a fat load....I need light to see things to do that.
If I put the Eclipse on first including the frame/hose it's a challenge to keep her in my arms and away from the hose.
So I put just the halo on...pick up the fat pug and carry her to bed...then turn the light off and get over to the bed and slap the frame on in the dark and climb into bed. It's that easy to attach.

That one is a loop, all of 28 seconds or so...

In Israel, as always.

Amazon

I'd love being able to put the frame on in the dark, I don't like disconnecting masks from my main hose...

You will be able to attach the Eclipse in the dark easily. Just have to figure out some way to mark the top of the frame to keep correct orientation to top. What I do is just lay the hose/frame on the pillow with the top at the top and when I pick it up I keep my finger at the top. I don't know how big of a deal it might be if I got it upside down. There's really not a whole lot of difference between top and bottom.

I remembered you were in Israel but I didn't know if you had moved or not.

28 seconds huh...can we add lazy into my previous excuse.  Though I did watch the teaser video on my phone but hadn't seen one where it actually showed the halo in detail.
To be honest I wasn't in too big of a hurry to watch videos. I figured would be needed more when people had this mask in their hands. Remember...never do today what you can put off until tomorrow.

I don't remember but I think they are there but covered up with the bikini thong diffuser thing and you can't feel through it.
I will go check it out later and report.
Blackberry jam making today and the friggin WalMart (only grocery store in my area) doesn't carry canning supplies anymore because the idiot manager didn't think they would sell. Dumb ass....middle of rural county and farmers out the wazoo and he didn't order any food preservative stuff or canning supplies because "no one here would want them".
Need to go to another WalMart...20 miles away.

I need to replace the filter material in the bikini a bit later and I will look for nubs or some way to easily feel the top.
I think I have been using the rounded vs sort of indented contour to orientate things.
Will report on it later.
