Eclipse Mask intro video in Less Than an Hour

Post by kteague » Tue May 17, 2022 6:12 am

Got an email from Stuart that they will be live on their website today for the Eclipse pre-marketing launch at 9am EST. I did the product trial and loved the new things they did to make the Bleep evolve into the Eclipse. If this no-headgear product interests you, check them out. Got almost an hour to get your cup of coffee and get settled in. :)

Edit by moderator....time has changed...it got pushed back to 10 AM EST.

Time has changed to 10 AM Eastern....sorry for the inconvenience.
I just got a text from Stuart saying it was a bit delayed.
Until 10 AM Eastern you get the message. Should go away after 10 AM Eastern.

So those of us who Beta tested the Eclipse are also going to be free to talk about it and I guess this thread is as good of a place as any.

I need more coffee first....and wait 10 more minutes.

Hmm ... doesn't appear to be a "live stream"; just a pre-recorded teaser video.

In any case, seems a pretty straightforward evolution of the initial version, though in time I learned to attach the dreamports without almost ever having any problems.

Beyond the ease of attaching and detaching, are there any other advantages?

The video is now live. It's brief...it's a teaser....I warned you guys to expect teasers but you will get the idea about the Eclipse attachment process.
No more screwing around with those damn ports and leaks because they aren't attached properly.
If you can put a bandaid on your nose...you can use this.

Video is still marked as private, but I think we get the gist.

Looks interesting. Will get in queue to give it a try when available.

I was fortunate enough to be one of the beta testers for the Eclipse and I can honestly say I LOVE it!

I know that some who tried the DreamPorts said they were too fiddly, sometimes difficult to get completely clicked in. When I first started using the the DreamPorts, I didn't really have any issues, but then I developed painful arthritis in my hands (actually just ONE finger!), but that was enough to affect my fine motor dexterity and suddenly I was having trouble with everyday activities like typing (this hurts!) and putting on my DreamPorts! The Eclipse completely does away with that! SO EASY!! Attach the Halo adhesives (pretty much the same as the DreamPort adhesives) but the Eclipse practically attaches itself in no time at all...get it close and it's on! :D

Another benefit for me is that it is shorter (closer to the face) than the orginal, so as a side/stomach sleeper who buries her face into the bed/pillow, it is that much more comfortable, just a bit closer to the bed. Maybe not an issue for most people but I noticed it.

I can't wait until it's available for general use...I am definitely pre-ordering on May 24, which is when pre-orders open!

Feel free to ask me questions about my experience!

Link works for me now and I was getting the "private" thing earlier.

Yes...I already warned everyone to expect a teaser video at first. I think Kteague got confused and thought the video was a live stream thing...obviously it wasn't. I fixed her topic so people won't look for anything live. Sorry for the confusion.

I can't think of anything except the ease of attachment with the magnets being all that much of a game changer unless it is having those plastic ports things not dig into my upper lip area when I was sort of face down in my bed pillow.

There were a lot of people who just couldn't master the plastic attachment ports for various reasons. I had it happen to me last year because I ended up having so much pain in my right hand I couldn't even pull the ports off the paper much less get them attached properly...then I had surgery and sure couldn't ...and a long recovery before I could master the plastic ports again. I still have a problem picking up a dime.

You've mastered the plastic ports...that's wonderful...there's likely going to be a bunch of that stuff be offered up real cheap.

I got to see the video. At first I tried it on the main page banner, but then it swiped away. Next time I went to the link on the Eclipse, and could watch the video there. The teaser is more than enough for me to have clicked the email link to see about pre-ordering. I’ve got plenty of dreamports on hand, but I really like that these new ones are flat against the nostrils. Those little tubes on the dreamports make it tricky to kiss my wife when I come to bed, this eliminates that minor inconvenience.

Go Stuart! Looks like a worthy upgrade.

That does seem a likely comfort advantage.

Indeed!

I noticed they had started trying to move the current version earlier this year, and was wondering if something new was coming.

Yes...something new was in the works. It's actually been in the works for a couple of years but COVID got in the way along with the money thing and supply thing.
I have a whole new respect for mask R & D now...and the time it takes to get from an idea to actual product to the public.
