I had it happen to me last year because I ended up having so much pain in my right hand I couldn't even pull the ports off the paper much less get them attached properly...then I had surgery and sure couldn't ...and a long recovery before I could master the plastic ports again

When I first started using the the DreamPorts, I didn't really have any issues, but then I developed painful arthritis in my hands (actually just ONE finger! ), but that was enough to affect my fine motor dexterity and suddenly I was having trouble with everyday activities
... I was wondering how I'd handle the ports in winter, when I get cracks in my thumb and forefinger at the fingernail's edge.
It's nice to know bleep have a better solution now!

Do you know how difficult it is for a woman to keep a secret this long?
Right?! OMG, sometimes I thought I going to have to cut off my (aching  ) left hand to not type something about how wonderful I found it! Especially, because like you, I developed a hand issue that made it so much more difficult to use the Bleep.

Any upgrade to the diffuser? That piece of fabric kept on breaking on me...

Pictures make it look the same/similar, but one of the beta testers will have to chime in.

Curious, how did you break diffuser? I’m not trying to pick a fight, I believe you, but for me, the diffuser is just there, I leave it alone. My Dreamway connectors tend to fail at one or both ends of the flexible tubing.

Pugsy. You said in the other thread that the magnets are “stout”, and they don’t release easily. Does that mean when I get up in the night it will be easier to leave the elephant’s trunk in place?
;-)

I was hoping it could be popped off and on easily. While I don’t have huge problems attaching dreamports, I’ve learned (the hard way) to leave it alone if I have a good seal.

Not that I am a party to but I know what you mean. I tore the black bikini part early on but you know that it will still hold the filter pieces in place. Mine broke well over a year ago when I was taking it off to change the little piece of filter that composes the diffuser.
The black bikini thong part can be bought separately but I just never bothered.

The main update is the attachment process...from the fiddly plastic ports to just little metallic rings that will grip to a magnet real tight. No more fiddly plastic to fight with.

The black part of the diffuser that actually holds the filter (diffuser material) over the vent holes has a couple of teeny tiny areas that break/tear easily when removing or applying the diffuser.

The magnets are "stout" and not easily removed once they are stuck on the little metal ring that is on the adhesive part.
You don't want them easy to remove because you don't want them getting unstuck when you roll over in bed or put your face in the bed pillow.

But they can be removed if you just slide it sideways. If you try to yank it downward to remove the frame part it's going to feel like you are yanking the end of your nose off. It can be done but it takes a lot of effort. Sliding sideways is much easier on your nose as well as the mask frame. Besides you don't want to break the frame by yanking hard on it.

I haven't had the little hose come loose at the top end of the frame but I have had it come loose at the junction where we attach the hose to our long hose. But to be fair....it only happened (3 times) when somebody rolled on it and it got caught between weight on it and the need to give somewhere. I laid on it wrong. I don't use any sort of hose management system...so it got underneath me and then I moved my head and it had no where to go but apart. Easy to feed it back on though. I did it in the dark to fix it.

The hose attachment could be reinforced with a little bit of tape of some sort....at either end.

I'll second this. Trying to pull them straight off, you'll pull the hose off the body first, but they're easy enough to slide off and just snap back on without any fuss when you get back in bed.

It is SO easy to pop on...just get it close and it practically attaches itself! As Pugsy and Palerider said off is more of a SLIDING motion, but easy enough.

As for the diffuser, I do use the "bikini" portion but not the actual little filters that come with. I use an air filter cut to fit. I am super-sensitive to noise (think Princess & the Pea  ) so I find the bigger size and just that much more thickness provides the little bit extra nosie dampening I need (or think I need  ). Anyway, other than the very first bikini, I have not torn one. Whether it's because I am a bit more careful or it's a teensy bit sturdier, I could not tell you.

I was fortunate enough to be one of the beta testers for the Eclipse and I can honestly say I LOVE it!

I know that some who tried the DreamPorts said they were too fiddly, sometimes difficult to get completely clicked in. When I first started using the the DreamPorts, I didn't really have any issues, but then I developed painful arthritis in my hands (actually just ONE finger!), but that was enough to affect my fine motor dexterity and suddenly I was having trouble with everyday activities like typing (this hurts!) and putting on my DreamPorts! The Eclipse completely does away with that! SO EASY!! Attach the Halo adhesives (pretty much the same as the DreamPort adhesives) but the Eclipse practically attaches itself in no time at all...get it close and it's on! :D

Another benefit for me is that it is shorter (closer to the face) than the orginal, so as a side/stomach sleeper who buries her face into the bed/pillow, it is that much more comfortable, just a bit closer to the bed. Maybe not an issue for most people but I noticed it.

I can't wait until it's available for general use...I am definitely pre-ordering on May 24, which is when pre-orders open!

Feel free to ask me questions about my experience!
Lately I've been having leak problems with my Airfit N30i, so this Eclipse Bleep sounds incredibly tempting. Especially with the idea of getting rid of the headgear. But I've never used the kind of mask that has the hose coming off the nose (rather than the top of the head). I've been wary of that type of hose setup because I am mostly a side sleeper who alternates back and forth all night, and I couldn't imagine how I could do that comfortably with a hose that would have to flip over along with me. Can you describe your experience with the bleep hose?

The inventor recommends using a hose manager in an old video
Recommendation starts around 6min15sec

I know Stuart does recommend a hose management system of some sort.

But it isn't always necessary.....I have never used any hose management system with any mask.....not in 13 years.
But then I have never used (beyond just trying) a mask with hose attaching at the top of my head either.

Goes to show you that the YMMV sticker is indeed a big sticker.

I am a restless side/stomach sleeper. lots of tossing and turning. I use a hose management system (actually the same one that Stuart uses/recommends) which routes the hose up to the head of the bed and moves it from side to side as I turn over. It works VERY well!. And the magnetic connection of the Eclipse Halo has never failed, throughout all my movement. The magnets are quite strong, do not pull off, you need to SLIDE to remove. In all fairness, I DO have to admit that the short hose has come loose from the connector (the piece actually staying in my heated hose  ) about 3 times in all the years I have been using the Bleep, twice with the DreamPorts, once with the Eclipse. I did have to turn on the lights to slide it back onto the connector.
