Interested in how mouth breathing might influence or give rise to the OPs complaint.
Could you expand on that?
Wow! You know even less about CPAP than I thought. Better see a doctor.

The OP has solved her problem. It's time for a certain member to buzz off.
Yeah, the member's passive/aggressive style of derailing a thread has become very old.
Posting a phony concern about a pertinent post (like Dog Slobber's) acting like it has a legitimate question about the post. Then acting like it has been unfairly treated when someone calls it on it. Like CGranny did.
Very old.

Are you mouth breathing?

Mouth Breathing is problematic and a huge contributor to dry mouth with or without CPAP:

But it is especially problematic for CPAP users:
A full-face mask mitigates *a lot* of the mouth breathing issues, but not all of them.

If the water is disappearing from the tank, then it's in the air you're breathing.

Again with the personalization.
Back on topic:
So the original poster replaced the water chamber, and that seems to have solved the problem. Hooray
Does that suggest that chamber was leaking water and therefore the water was not being evaporated into the air stream (as the OP first thought)?

No.
Had there been a [water] leak, there would have been pooling. The OP was specifically asked about pooling. Though they may not have noticed pooling. It is also unlikely that having a [water] leak combined with her humidity on 8, that she would have been left with any water.
But, the OP also claimed that a 20% of a tank was left. Therefore she was never without water. Given, she was never without water, having had a [water] leak does not explain why she felt dry.

80% of water is gone in the morning.
Check to see if water is pondying anywhere.
I see what you did there.

So the OP resolved the problem by changing out the water tank. "very thing back to normal" (Congratulations, a very good thing)
Pondy began with stating "not getting any moisture" despite humidification setting of 8, chamber evaporated by morning, "creating sore throat"
Pondy added: Zero leaks (did not specify water leaks or tubing/mask leaks), and "usually I get plenty of moisture in the tube, now very little even with max humidity setting.
Pondy added: "80% of water gone in the morning"
Pondy added: "Other only aligns to timing of having issues, must have been faulty". (Not sure of what s/he is trying to say here.)
So, yes I agree, as s/he claims to always have water remaining in the tank, that doesn't explain why s/he was "not getting any moisture" (despite cranking the setting up) and "creating sore throat".
Since Pondy corrected the problem by replacing the water chamber, should it be concluded that the prior water chamber was defective?

This is not necessarily true.

Ordered a new water chamber and last night very thing seemed back to normal. Other only aligns to timing of having issues, must been faulty.
Pondy sure seems to say that "things back to normal" by replacing the water chamber.
So how is that not true?

First of all I *Never* said it *wasn't true*. You need to stop changing the language other people use to create your strawmen.
Pondy made a lot of statements which could not be correct, including conclusions she drew. Pondy left out a lot of information, and neglected to provide answers when asked. The language she used, information shared and more importantly information she didn't share suggests she was a novice or not very engaged in her CPAP therapy and usage of tools (OSCAR).
Therefore a lot of what she and conclusions she drew. things she said, simply could not be trusted.
Recently I've had a lot of leaks, and higher AHI. Last night, I barbequed a big steak. Last night, I had zero leaks and 0.1 AHI. Things are back to normal.
For the same reasons you and Pondy are convinced that changing the humidifier brought things back to normal, I could argue bbqing a steak brought things back to normal for me.
My gosh you're tedious.
