Not getting any moisture despite humidity setting 8
Not getting any moisture despite humidity setting 8
Recently I am not getting any moisture in my air despite the humidity setting being set all way up to 8 on my airsense 10. Weird bc the water in the chamber is being evaporated by the morning. This issue is making it very hard to sleep and creating sore throats, etc.

Given the water is evaporating, moisture/humidity is being provided.
How have your leaks been?
Are you using all your water?
Are you mouth breathing?
Are you on new medication?

Zero leaks. 80% of water is gone in the morning. No new meds. Probably mouth breathing but usually I get plenty of moisture in the tube. Now very little it seems, even with increasing to max humidity.

What machine are you using?
What is the ambient humidity in your bedroom?
What is the temperature and humidity where you live?
Heated hose or non heated hose?

"seems" and "is" are very often at odds with each other,
If the water is disappearing from the tank, then it's in the air you're breathing.

Interested in how mouth breathing might influence or give rise to the OPs complaint.
Could you expand on that?

Ordered a new water chamber and last night very thing seemed back to normal. Other only aligns to timing of having issues, must been faulty.

I asked Dog a question and you immediately reply with a personal characterization - that is how these threads get derailed.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 5:05 amWow! You know even less about CPAP than I thought. Better see a doctor.
Back on topic:
Your comment “blowing moisture out” (while using a nasal mask with mouth breathing) are you suggesting that the “moisture” is entering the nasal airway but escaping through the mouth and not being delivered to the remainder of the airway to the lungs?

What else COULD it be?

Re: Not getting any moisture despite humidity setting 8
The air provided by the PAP is nominally 20% oxygen and some level of humidity (for the sake of discussion let's say it's 50%).
If the air (or some portion of it) provided to the nasal airway never gets to the airways distal to the genioglossus muscle (because that PAP supplied air is exiting (blowing) through the mouth) the lower respiratory structures are not only not getting the humidity boost provided by the Pap but are also not getting the full 20% oxygen replenishment . That is a bigger problem than loss of humidity.
IIRC, the OP says that 80% of the tank water is used, and he has zero leaks. It would be very helpful to see his OSCAR reports, as I think we've all experienced significant evaporation rates (from the tank) when the moisturized air never gets to the respiratory system.

The OP has solved her problem. It's time for a certain member to buzz off.
