When on CPAP, why would a low AHI—e.g. under 1—make one feel more tired and worse in the morning than a higher AHI—e.g. 2 or 3? This has been my experience.

None of the regulars have mentioned this, but maybe, just maybe there is no functional difference between AHI of 1 and 2.

Having said that, the events that comprise the AHI have differing significance. For example, at these very low AHI levels, doubling the frequency of obstructive apneas may have more significance than doubling the frequency of hypopneas .

Undiagnosed health issues/medications can cause morning fatigue, regardless of AHI, my experience.

please read the original post again. this is nowhere near what the op is complaining about.

s/he says that they feel worse at ahi of one than at a higher ahi.
