I was told on Reddit that no sane person would spend time having conversations with strangers on the Internet.

None of the regulars have mentioned this, but
maybe, just maybe there is no
functional difference between AHI of 1 and 2.
Having said that, the events that comprise the AHI have differing significance. For example, at these very low AHI levels, doubling the frequency of obstructive apneas may have more significance than doubling the frequency of hypopneas .

please read the original post again. this is nowhere near what the op is complaining about.
s/he says that they feel worse at ahi of one than at a higher ahi.
